Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Folding Sheath Knife:
I bought this knife to wear with my PFD when kayak fishing. It is a little big and a tad awkward to open one-handed for this purpose, so I will likely use it for general camping duties instead.
The blade and lock back mechanism are solid, made of quite thick steel for a folding knife. However, they both mount directly into the plastic grip, with no steel inserts. This means that there is a definite weak spot at the pivot, and if you really torque the blade you can feel the plastic grip flexing a bit. I cannot imagine what I would ever be doing with this knife (prying open something?) to break it this way, but I'm sure that's possible.
The rubberized handle is grippy in your hand, but it also tends to grip the inside of your pocket so I recommend carrying it in the pouch provided.
While the blade was not super sharp from the factory, with a little attention it came up nice and seems to hold an edge OK.
I also like the orange grips, as I know how easy it is - especially in low light - to put a knife down when you're in the woods and not be able to find it! Some hunters have camo knives and it always makes me laugh.
All in all for a budget knife that I would not miss if I dropped overboard, this works great.

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Folding Sheath Knife:
I bought this knife a few weeks ago. My knife came out of the box extremely sharp. Very well balanced and fits well in my hand(I have big hands). So far I have had no issues with the handle. It is versatile; which I look for in most of my equipment. The ribs on the handle can be used with a farrow rod. The butt end is reinforced enough to do some hammering.

Comments about Gerber Bear Grylls Folding Sheath Knife:
I have cut my self several times just by accidentally bumping the blade. The thumb stud is next to useless because the opening mechanism is too stiff to open with one hand. The handle is incredibly grippy and comfortable. One of the longest blades you can get in a folding knife. Unusually heavy for a knife.
