Comments about Shimano Dura-Ace PD-7900 SPD-SL Road Pedals:
I bought these to replace a set of 540 pedals. These are much lighter and also a little wider. The increase in width helped with the tendency for me to roll my left foot in the shoe and cause my left little toe to hurt. I considered speedplay pedals, but came back to the Shimano in the end. The ability to have two-sided entry didn't really bother me. Once you are used to single-sided entry, it's really a no-brainer. The speedplay had a clunky two-piece cleat that would only require more maintenance. Shop around.

Comments about Shimano Dura-Ace PD-7900 SPD-SL Road Pedals:
Best pedals I have owned, hands down. Not that I was expecting anything less for the price. These pedals have an excellent feel on the bike, and can accomodate a high degree of torgue in racing situations. Only negative is that they aren't two-sided like Speedplay, but I think the connection is much crisper. Great pedal, worth the expensive price because of the design and durability.
