Comments about Serfas RX Saddle - Men's:
I recently returned to biking and discovered that I'm not as durable in certain areas than in my youth. Experienced numbness only after a few miles. This seat was recommended to me by the sales staff at REI. The sale rep. also recommended padded bike shorts to enhance the seats' features. My rides now are more comfortable, no numbness and I'm able to ride up to 20 miles now.

Comments about Serfas RX Saddle - Men's:
I usually only ride for 45 min to an hour, generally 8 - 10 miles for exercise and I haave no complaints about the comfort. I had experience with this seat on a friends bike so when I had to replace my seat due to an accident (bike fell off rack on back of truck)I had an idea what I wanted. It was in the low end price range and that suited me fine.

Comments about Serfas RX Saddle - Men's:
Hello I just bought this saddle on 10/14/2012 and have done two rides so far the first one 43 miles and today 10/18/2012 41 miles and I have never felt better riding on a saddle.
I have owned a Terry Liberator and a Brooks B-68 and they can't even come close to how this saddle feels.
As a matter of fact I will purchase another saddle just to keep in the garage so when I wear this one out ill have another one.
A great find you won't go wrong with this saddle-but then this is opinion.

Comments about Serfas RX Saddle - Men's:
Since I started riding on week-long trips in the Western States and Canada, I've tried half a dozen different saddles, and have settled on this Serfas RX as the most comfortable and best all-around for me. Sheds water (I never cover my saddle), and works best for me and my carbon road bike.

Comments about Serfas RX Saddle - Men's:
I commute to work and take the occasional 60-70 mile ride. I had an old saddle with a gel cover and had a hard time with comfort. This saddle solved my problem and now my legs wear out before my backside. This thing is great!

Comments about Serfas RX Saddle - Men's:
This saddle seemed like a good idea to reduce numbness at a reasonable price, even though Serfas makes a microfiber saddle for the same price that is waterproof but not carried by REI. Comfort is a personal choice. For me the saddle was too soft and flexed too much, the nose was too wide and rubbed on the inside of my thigh. I returned it and went to my LBS and tried some saddles that they put on my bike for a test ride[...] I bought a waterproof saddle with a cut out by another manufacturer that was far more comfortable, although twice the price.

Comments about Serfas RX Saddle - Men's:
My Giant FCR-1 Road Bike came with A WTB Speed Comp Saddle that I road 3500+ miles and many 100 and 60 mile rides. It was "okay" but I was looking for more comfort and a better fit. I first tested A Specialized Comp Gel and then a Tri Tip Gel, both highly recommended by salesmen at a [...] store for comfort and groin protection. Both Specialized saddles lasted 15-20 miles before the pain set in. I was a cripple after 40 miles and almost did not complete the rides with either. The Tri Tip left me with a red welt and pain for a day after. I was wearing my Pearlizumi Pro Shorts. These were the worst saddles that I ever used and the first time I was barely able to complete a 60-mile ride. When I returned the second saddle, [...] Salesmen told me that I got pain because you need to use Specialized saddles with the Specialized bike shorts that have the best padding for "their" saddles and not another brand. I moved on. Next, I tried the Selle Italia Flite Gel on a century because of its strong recommendations. It was good for 30 miles, minor discomfort set in, severe discomfort at mile 70, but I made it. Was red for a day or two and it went back to the store. I settled on this Serfas RX saddle because while it is not the most high performance saddle, it is the most comfortable I have tried. Also another guy in my bike club recently got one and said it was good. Over a 60 mile ride (my longest thus far in it), it was fine. I would definitely take it 100 next chance. I am also able to use this saddle for much shorter rides without padded pants--sometimes just spandex--no padding. You can use it with regular shorts or long pants too up to 20 miles.Lesson from all this testing and more than 30+ years of cycling: Go with your gut! and use common sense: If the seat is hard at the store--you will most likely have PAIN. Your Tush will not break in over time, and neither will the seat. If seat is soft and padded--that's the most comfortable, BUT may not be the highest performance or fastest. No pain, no gain may be the best rule--but I had so much pain with those hard saddles that I almost felt like giving up cycling, so what's the point?PS It's simple to install.
