Great value. Waterproofing is limited due to thin material, but a spray has worked pretty well. The top of the gaiter has strong elastic that may bite if you have thicker legs. I would not recommend this gaiter because I think there are better products out there. If you hate spending money and don't mind modifying/customizing gear, I would get them.

I use them everytime when I go hiking and backpacking, including in rain and packed snow on the trail. Everytime they keep my feet dry and clean. I have been using them on rocky trails with elevation gain from 300ft to over 1000ft/mile and they never fail to keep my feet clean. I use them over my hiking boots and I don't go hiking without them. I have been using this gaiters more than a year almost every weekend and I hike between 7 to 16 miles each time I go. I washed them only a couple times so far and treated with water resistant spray after wash. Easy to dry and I found no need to wash often. They are still in good conditions.

My wife and I each have a pair. They are great for here in Hawaii; they keep everything out of your shoes or boots, but leave your legs open and cool. Great for going down sliding sands trail in Haleakala!

I've used these gaiters both with hiking boots and trail runners. Only when I wear my hiking boots I wear thick socks. With those on the gaiters fit around my ankle. But when wearing my trailrunners, these gaiters leave a wide gap between the fabric and my ankles, letting debris in left and right. I have the smallest size available, but these things are too baggy. My friend has the REI trail running gaiters. I might get a pair of those, because the Otto gaiters just aren't cutting it.
