Comments about Avenir Sport Dual Bike Trailer with Stroller Kit - Special Buy:
This is a dangerous, poorly designed product. The seat belt system is useless. Our child managed to wriggle out from underneath the shoulder, lap and crotch belt, though it was properly fitted, and nearly fell out of the trailer (thank God it was when we were using it as a stroller). The seat bench is way too short for a child's backside, so the child constantly has to correct her position and cannot get comfortable. The trailer yoke is too long and offset so when used as a trailer, it rides six to eight inches to the left of center, and crabs instead of tracking straight. Finally, when used as a stroller, the front wheel is offset to the left and has about 15 degrees of negative camber, so in stroller configuration, it pulls sharply to the left. Absolutely not recommended, and should be dropped from REI's inventory. I returned ours and recommended same to REI - hope they listen.

Comments about Avenir Sport Dual Bike Trailer with Stroller Kit - Special Buy:
This is a great trailer if you require two things:
1) you need something that you won't use but want to take up unnecessary space in your garage.
2) you hate your bike and you want a poorly designed hitch mechanism for wrecking your bike.
We bought this trailer because it looked better than other comparably priced trailers. It is, which is a sad statement on the other trailers. To be brief, if you are only going to use this trailer once a month and don't care if it takes the paint off your bike than this is the trailer for you. Otherwise buy a better trailer like a chariot or burley. They are worth the extra expense.
P.S. the stroller wheel sucks too.

Comments about Avenir Sport Dual Bike Trailer with Stroller Kit - Special Buy:
We've only used it the first day, but my son loves it. It was easy to put together, seems very lightweight and is very bright and visible. It includes the flag, and front wheel to use as a stroller. It seems like it's built very well with tough cloth and good velcro coverage for securing all the flaps, although the back ventilation flap has a little more play in it than I'd like. The attachment mechanism takes a little getting used too because it's so flexible, but the large spring that makes up the end of the arm allows for some cushion between the bike and the trailer. Overall it's a great trailer, especially for the price. I'd highly recommend this for the casual to mid-level rider looking for a great tool to get the kids out of the house.

Comments about Avenir Sport Dual Bike Trailer with Stroller Kit - Special Buy:
We use this trailer to take our dogs with us while riding. Each dog weights ~25-30lbs, so the trailer works well and has plenty of room for both dogs. Had to make some minor modifications to the interior to accommodate them and make tie down points for their collars. (They often want to bail when chipmunks cross the trail)
We have had not problem pulling the trailer and it tracks well behind the bike. Sturdy construction and easy to setup to ride or to collapse to store.
The only complaint is with the attachment point, a clamp style vice will slip around on your frame. After 36 miles on a trail, it will wear through the rubber cover and start rubbing the paint off of the frame.
Overall it's a fine trailer for the price and does what is intended.

Comments about Avenir Sport Dual Bike Trailer with Stroller Kit - Special Buy:
We have only used this once. We put our one year old son in it and had some what mixed results. My husband was pulling the trailer and his foot kept hitting the latching mechanism(he may not have connected it the right way or maybe it was just his bike but it was difficult for him). My son was fine in it until we put on his helmet. He didn't like riding because his helmet would hit the back of the seat and push his head forward. To say the least it was a short ride. I am guessing that most trailers are designed this way unless you spend at least $500, which we do not plan to do. We are going to look at some options to retro fit the seat so he is more comfortable (e.g. maybe putting a pillow behind him so that he can put his head back). The trailer is bright orange. Something I was not excited about, but after we got it I realized that the color makes it very easy. Most trailers are not this bright and don't stick out as much. It is a very nice trailer. It was easy to put together and seems very strong. It was definately worth the [$].
