Comments about Chaco Zong EcoTread Sandals - Women's - 2010 Closeout:
I've had my first pair of Zongs for over a year now and I still love them as much as the very first day! The polyurethane footbed is great because it doesn't change- it'll support your feet the same until the very last day, unlike EVA footbeds, which compact and become less squishy over time. They are supportive for a sandal, but like a previous reviewer mentioned, not as supportive as the sandals in the Z series from chaco. They are definitely lighter and a little more casual though, if that's what you're looking for. In response to the straps tightening- it's a matter of size. The chacos only come in whole sizes, and often times folks go down a size to get the right fit. If the straps cross over your foot in the incorrect spot, they will totally tighten down on you because they're all threaded through the bottom. For example, my normal shoe size is an 8 (sometimes a 7.5), but the straps tightened down while walking on the 8, so I went down to the 7 and didn't have that problem anymore, plus the arch felt WAY better in the 7 (for me). Play around with the sizes and spend some time walking around in them in the store to make sure you've got the right fit first. Hope that helps!

I bought these even after reading a few reviews about the straps tightening around the big toe. those reviews were unfortunately true... but I am now in love with these sandals after my simple fix. I adjusted them perfectly and then applied super glue to the strap to keep it from moving. to do this you will adjust straps to where you want them, then mark one spot where it enters the footbed, pull the strap out a bit, apply a small dab of glue, then pull the strap back to where you marked it. perfecto! that should be all that you need to maintain the perfect fit. I will not go anywhere without these sandals now!

I did not get to wear these for a long time as I found even initial adjustment of straps too cumbersome. Going with Hipthong instead.

I love the look of these and when adjusted they are wonderfully comfy. I have two pair of Chaco sandals and after walking 30-40 minutes I have to stop and re-adjust ALL the confusing straps because they tighten up- which means before you know it your Big Toe is swollen, big and blue. Seems like they could make a way to keep them in place better? Once they are broken in they are great with the exception of the stangling!

Comments about Chaco Zong EcoTread Sandals - Women's - 2010 Closeout:
I loved the look of these sandals and wanted another pair for hiking, but ultimately had to return them. They are NOT good for hiking or any kind of walking, since the straps don't support your heels and they flip flop all over. Chacos are heavy anyway, and I felt like I had to work really hard to keep them on my feet, even after customizing the straps. The straps are another story- they readjust while you walk and pinch the heck out of your big toe. I ended up with blisters galore. Bummer. If you are looking for a cute pair of sandals and aren't planning a lot of walking, then these would be fine for you. If you're like me and want to USE them for their intended purpose, go with something a little more practical.

Comments about Chaco Zong EcoTread Sandals - Women's - 2010 Closeout:
I am a Chaco convert, no question, but the Zong is a little lacking. The way that they fit in comparison to the z2 is awkward. There is little to no perception of support or stability and the thinner straps, while rockin' in the teal, are not as functional as the wider or double alternative. Even on sale, they aren't worth the 50. Go with the original z2 (with the toe strap)...it's your best bet.
