I have use these for walks, short runs, light hikes. They are so comfortable that I wear these bright green shoes even in the office now.
STABILITY & SUPPORT:
The wide sole makes it very stable. The softness of the rear sole and support of the heel cup makes it very unlikely to roll my ankle. If I begin to roll, the wide sole just gradually compresses to one side but stays supported. Its like trying to roll your ankle while standing in mud: your weight is supported well even at an angle.
WET / SWEATY ENVIRONMENTS:
I washed all my shoes together, and these took the longest to dry, even longer than my goretex boots. If my feet get sweaty with cotton socks, they stay sweaty. Less of a problem with synthetic socks. If you don't like wet feet, do not get these wet as it will stay wet.
COMFORT:
There are thick and soft cushions above the heel for comfort. The rest of the foot uppers are extreme thin and soft, but still feels supportive. The tongue is padded so you don't feel the laces. They are so comfortable and light that they are now my everyday shoes, but not when it rains.
SIZING:
Length feels true to size. I have narrow to average feet width, and these feel secure, but there seems to be a good 3/8" more width space if you need it.

The left shoe seems defective my right fits perfect but the left shoe is uncomfortable especially on the left pinky toe. Also i see the glue has seeped out of the seems all around both of the shoes. For [$] i am very disappointed. [...].

Utterly love these shoes, I've owned at least 6 or 7 pairs of Salomons over the years and also a bunch of their clothing and so am obviously a solid fan. These shoes are very lightweight but provide just enough protection to make for a great lightweight trailrunning shoe. Nice to have the fun colors to choose from also, but primarily the weight and the excellent level of traction they provide makes them a must buy.

I am not one to write a product review. However, I have been a sworn Salomon shoe consumer for years. The XA Pro 3D Ultras were the best thing that I had put on my foot so far. Along came the XR Crossmax! At 200 pounds, I need the support of a wide and supportive heel box. This shoe is, as always, "out of the box comfortable". I "broke these things in" with a little house work for an hour and then to the trail for an hour plus run. No hot spots or blisters! The comfort is extraordinary to say the least.

I usually wear 10.5 shoe size, and when I received the product from purchasing online, it was too big. Then I reordered a size 10, and it was still too big. Everything in the shoe was tight, which I don't mind. The SensiFlex did feel a bit uncomfortable with wearing normal socks. I also feel like the heel feels very loose. I am returning the shoe another time. hopefully 9.5 feel a bit better, or else this shoe is not for me.

I wear these shoes almost all the time. They are very comfortable, The heel is great, it provides awesome cushioning and feels like it helps direct my step. I am a fan of the lacing system and the pocket on the tounge of the shoe for the lacing. the shoe is rugged and well built.

These are my trail shoes - very durable, great grip and padding is second-to-none. The only thing that was a little flaky was the boa lacing system - there's really no good place to hook the end of the laces to in order to keep them from dragging. I stick them in the lower part of the laces.
