Whether you're a sport climber, trad climber or gym rat, the Mad Rock Mugen Tech Lace rock shoes have the features you need to conquer tough routes.

4.2mm-thick rubber soles provide excellent grip to grab onto all types of rock; 2.2mm-thick rubber rands help you perform toe hooks and other fancy foot maneuvers
Heels of the shoes feature a contoured fit that minimizes slip; textured rubber helps with heel hooks while climbing and gives you some grip while descending scree slopes
EVA foam cushion in the heels absorbs impact and reduces pressure when you're standing in your rock shoes
Low-stretch synthetic uppers provide a reliable fit that won't change dramatically over time
Lace-up design lets you fine-tune the fit; lace-up shoes are generally preferred over rip-and-stick shoes when crack climbing
Hemp lining is naturally odor resistant
For a comfort fit, select your street shoe size; for a performance fit, consider going a half size to 1 full size below your street shoe size
The Mad Rock Mugen Tech Lace rock shoes contain no animal by-products, making them vegan

I found the Mugen Tech Lace to be a great trad shoe. The fit is exceptional due to the rubber upper. I climbed for six hours in them and didn't have the expected pain. The true advantage with the Mugen is being able to fit them close to your street shoe size and get the performance desired.

I doubted the whole faction that this shoe can be comfortable yet still perform well, but I was proved wrong. It fits great, especially because it's a lace up. Great smearing toe. The rubber provides really good friction on both rock and plastic.

Though I wear mens size 10 or 10.5 these are so small and more like a womens size 10. It is hard from the catalog to distinguish - If they only sell in mens sizes, then it is best to order your street size for performance and .5 larger for comfort.
Product itself appears awesome and wish I could use them!

I believe a review of a climbing shoes shouldn't include "it fits real good" as all peoples feet are different and some people prefer to climb in what feels like a tennis shoe.
That being said, this rubber sucks! It is not sticky at all. The rubber they use on the heal is inferior to the rubber on the toes which is different then the rubber right above the toes. Heel hooks are out. Toe hooks are definitely not gonna happen. Even the toe rubber is not that sticky. I bought these because I was just going to use them as gym shoes and they had a very agressive stance but I would gladly pay double for something that sticks. I am returning these now.

Excellent shoe that works great pretty much everywhere you care to go. I couldn't believe how much of a difference having this shoe made on advancing my personal climbing ability. The rubber provides amazing grip and provides confidence in your foot placement, and has so far proven to be very durable. Does feel a bit small at first, but once you start climbing, that goes away quickly.
