Comments about Brooks Essential Run Vest - Men's:

I was looking for a cycling vest that was lightweight and reflective. I came across the Brooks Essential Run Vest in the running section of REI, but it also works well as a cycling vest. The quality was, in fact, higher, in my opinion, than vests in the cycling area. Zippers seems more durable, pockets more accessible, slightly more (but not much) weight. I'll get more use out of this vest than a pure cycling vest, which could also look a bit funny off the bike given the mismatched front and back lengths. No reason this can't be rolled up and stuffed in a sack to pull out for more adverse commuting conditions. It's light as a feather, and enought to take the chill off a 50 degree ride. The size was more on par with what you're used to with other REI brands, so you don't have to bump up a size or two as with the cycling brands. You may even bump down for a more snug fit if you're trying to shave precious seconds off your competitive commute.

High quality, and I expect this to hold up well over time given the construction.
