    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Performer I love hiking but suffer foot pain from conditions including low arches, bunions and arthritis. I had resigned myself to putting up with the discomfort because I don't intend to stop hiking. These shoes have proved to be a miracle find: they fit my damaged feet very well, provide great support and stability, and most importantly protect me from pain. I bought them just before a trip to Colorado; they were comfortable right out of the box, and I had no foot pain even after miles of mountain trails. Also impressive to me was their traction; I had absolutely no problems with slipping, even in the rain, on tree roots and rocks. They're also proving to be very durable, and I expect that I'll get years of service from them. I'm recommending them to everyone I know!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most comfortable hiking shoes I need a wide, rounded toe box and narrow heel and these shoes fit the bill perfectly. I did substitute a pair of SuperFeet for the original insoles to get more arch support and ensure the middle of foot was snug in shoe. They have been super comfortable for me -- lightweight, not hot, and no pressure points at all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great hikers My wife uses these almost daily for everyday wear as well as weekend hikes. Light and comfortable, just not waterproof, so fair weather wear.she usually gravitates to Keen hikers, but likes the feel of these even better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable out of the box I had been hiking in Merrell Moab Ventilators with wool crew socks for years. The Merrells were comfortable, but squishy, and my feet would get very tired. An REI saleswoman suggested that a stiffer sole might help, and my feet said yes (sized up a half size) to these Patagonias. I am old enough to have learned to let my feet choose my shoes, regardless of appearance, price, color, etc. The Patagonias feel similar to my old shoes - wide toe box, lots of padding around the heel, mesh to help heat escape - but they are all-around firmer, in a good way. My feet are very insulated from the trail, but not so much that I can't feel what's underneath me. Considering the amount of boot-like support, they are very light. Traction is excellent on slopes with loose gravel. I took them on a few short hikes with my same wool socks. No problems. Now I'm doing longer hikes. Happy feet. Of course everyone's feet are different, but these shoes are a good match for mine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Toes While the shoes appear large and feel clunky (almost like skater or moon shoes) they were overall comfortable with plenty of arch support and heel cushion upon initially trying on and walking around in the store. However hiking on mixed terrain, including slight declines and minor rocky conditions left me extremely disappointed. I have narrow feet and high arches. My arches were very protected, supported and secured but my toes were severely damaged by the oversized toe box. Both big toes are black and blue and very bruised. The nails have been detached from the nail bed and are certainly goners. So not ideal given I am taking an REI vacation (hiking) in 2.5 months... I would have been better off hiking in traditional cross trainer tennis shoes or even flip flops. Very disappointed in the outcome.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfy but Heavy and Clunky The shoe description says "Light and Nimble"??? Um, not at all! I needed a new pair of low top day hiking shoes. I chose these for the tread. In the Puget Sound, even the everyday hiking trails need some good traction. I read someone had said they were kind of clown shoe/clunky feeling when they put them on. Totally true. I wanted to decide for myself if they were too heavy and they are. :( The footbed is super comfy, the toebox is roomy, and the heel cup really holds the heel. I felt they ran a half size too big. Sadly, doesn't have the selection of shoes I'm searching for right now, but the store here locally still carries the Merrell Siren Sport which I already have a pair of I bought 4 years ago (and have wore out from the inside out). Guess I can exchange for those! I was just looking for something new. This shoe is more for working out in your yard....not hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable Feet The salesman encouraged me to go a half size larger due to how your feet swell when you hike. Glad I did. Wore them on a 6- mile hike first time out and they felt like a dream. No breaking required. Ample support on rocky unstable terrain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cloud Comfort Salesman recommended going 1/2 size bigger and it worked out great. Wearing two pairs of socks, I went on a six mile hike the first time I wore these and still didn't want to take them off.
