Comments about Brooks Cascadia 6 Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I recently embarked on my first ever backpacking trip a bit too ambitiously by attempting the Pacific Crest Trail. Ha. I started off wearing a pair of New Balances and was miserable. All of my toe nails turned black and I had 10 blisters on each foot. I was miserable. It was either get new shoes or quit the trail. I decided on the shoes. These Brooks Cascadias made me like hiking. I wore them through the high sierras through the snow, through rivers, mud, sand, rocks and for over 600 miles and I love them. I didn't finish the trail due to other circumstances, but I know these shoes could have made it all the way. I still wear them every day even though I am due for a new pair. Totally worth the price. They are still in great condition, no rips or tears and they are still comfortable! Do it. Buy em.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 6 Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
My knees and ankles have taken serious beatings during my athletic youth (I'm not even 30 yet) and for the first time EVER I have hiked down a mountain with ZERO knee pain (I've worn these shoes since I bought them in May). This says a lot about the Brooks Cascadia. I was turned off by the crazy colors at first...but then my boyfriend suggested I at least try them on. Out of the box my narrow feet felt hugged, supported and for the first time in years I find myself bounding up and down the trail! I also like the "breathability" of the shoe, in humid weather it makes for better comfort. Sorry boots...I've converted! Love these shoes!

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 6 Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I use these to run on asphalt paths, muddy trails and gravel. They rock on all three of these - all while feeling like I have nothing on my feet. They give me the support I need without the bulk that you get with some other shoes. I ran around the store in just about every shoe they have on the wall for trail running and these were by far the best for me. I am a neutral runner that tends to fall heavier on my heels and I love the way these feel. The only thing I could think of them improving is adding a stiffer mid-sole plate to avoid rock bruises. As an added plus - the wild green color makes me feel fast!

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 6 Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I loved how lightweight these shoes are, truly nice and not at all clunky. HOWEVER, they wore out FAR too quickly. I am not a ten-mile a day runner, and used them for running four times a week (about 5-6 miles at a time) and hiking on weekends, and the tread was GONE on the heels in less than two months. They are great for trail running, IF it is a paved or flat trail with no tree roots or loose rocks. There is almost no cushioning and my feet are sore, with one bruise on the ball of my foot, after a hike on rough terrain yesterday(up to SF Baldy, for anyone who knows it). A more stable and firm sole is definitely needed. I would recommend them for running on asphalt and pavement, they are very comfortable for that, but they just wore out way too fast, for the price.

I researched for a great pair of trail shoes. I did read about these having great everything, but the cushioning wasn't the best. I agree. Loved everything about these: light, fun colors, good traction and support, etc. (Could be great trail racers) I've worn them on several trail runs, and have to say that the comfy cushioning needs a different last underneath. I could feel all of the loose rocks. I'm actually afraid that it may cause foot bruising, so I think I'm going to have to find a different pair.

I bought these shoes for walking/hiking/trail running in the southwest. They were insanely comfortable right out of the box. Awesome traction, and great cushioning. I have only used them on cement and at the track, though, so cannot speak for how they handle on rocky trails.
I usually wear a 10.5-11, and the size 11 in these fits perfectly. Also, the lime green color is really fun if you don't mind people staring at / making comments about your feet. :)

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 6 Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
I bought these after being super happy with my other Brooks that I wear for road/"tame" trail running. I needed to transition over to the more bonafide trail running shoe due to the fact that I began running on trails that were much more technical and required more rugged traction. In addition to running road or light trail about 3 times per week, I do a long trail run about once per week. I took them out for their first trial on a very technical trail that was muddy as hell after a rainstorm (not to mention all of the rocks, streams, logs and other things one must run over). They were absolutely amazing. The only thing I will say is that due to the breath-ability of the shoe, there is some mesh-like material near the innner arch that will probably allow a little mud or water through when you run. If you're looking for a water/mud/snowproof shoe, I would go with a shoe that has Gortex. Overall, a fantastic shoe by Brooks, once again. A+!

The show was a nice shoe, but I have a high arch and the shoe did not accomodate. Other than that, the shoe was very comfortable. I walked around in it for a few days, and it left my feet aching.

I will be buying my third pair of these shoes. I have a narrow heel and wear orthotics. I am an avid hiker and backpacker and I have put a lot of miles on each pair, especially on the rocks of PA, and they've held up great.

Comments about Brooks Cascadia 6 Trail-Running Shoes - Women's:
Being used to neutral/minimum road shoes, I chose this to be on the "safe" side for my first trail running shoe. I was disappointed that it had a little too much cushioning/arch support for a neutral shoe. I'm a forefoot striker and this shoe didn't really fit the bill to accent my running style. Whether I recommend it to a friend is based on their running style and level of fitness. I'm averaging 30-40 mi a week running and am training for a 50 mi trail run. These unfortunately won't be my 50-miler shoe...
