My main purpose was to find something to take on a month long trip to New Zealand where we would be in several climates. I wanted something that would travel well, be casual, but nice enough to go out to dinner with and not look like I just came off the trail. I had my eye on the Patagonia sweater for awhile and after trying on several other outerwear pieces/jackets I kept coming back to this one. It came in fushia and nice blue, but I bought the grey thinking it would be more versatile. The price was a bit high, but worth every penny. I used it on the Glaciers, Fiords as well as out to dinner. It hold up well when washed. It is still my go-to piece when running around town and out at night.

I lusted after this for quite a while and finally splurged and purchased it last spring. I love the way it looks and think it is comfortable. However, I'm not a big fan of the fit; the torso is a bit too fitted and long, while the sleeves are comparatively too baggy. Also, while I didn't expect it to be windproof, the wind really blows right through it, and it doesn't keep me nearly as warm as a traditional fleece. Lastly, the zipper on mine seems to be faulty; it keeps unzipping itself from the bottom.

I bought this sweater as I liked the style and have heard good things about the Patagonia brand. After a year of use, it doesn't look that good anymore. Lots of pills all over the garment and it looks grungy in spite of washing. I wouldn't say that I washed it too frequently, maybe every other week according to the washing instructions. I would also say that the torso is a bit too long. I have a rather long torso and it is probably 2-3 inches too long. It is a nice sweater, just definitely not worth [$]

I would wear this everyday if I could. Thankfully living in Indianapolis you have quite a few days that you need a little more than a light jacket. Great for those 40s-to low 60s. Plus it is very cute and I've gotten lots of compliments on it.
