I rarely write on these things. However, I felt it was important to share my comments on these glasses. It is correct that the rubber pieces have bad glue and they eventually will come off. Nothing a little super glue can't fix. I know that is not a good excuse for a good pair of sunglasses. I still gave them five stars because I have beat the heck out of them and they are still doing great. I rock climb, ice climb, race ironman, military, kayak, and just plain run. I have wiped caked sweat off these glasses a million times and they have never failed me. They rarely fog and I have had water from ice climbs frozen solid on them and they still perform. They have taken ice particle, hot brass, rock particles, dirt, river streams, etc... and they keep on going. So I recommend dropping the money. Because next time you pop off a rock face at 1,000 ft up and flip inverted as your gear pulls out of the rock you won't have to worry about doing the hike down without your shades.

I have been fan of these glasses since I received my first pair from [...] in 2004. I have owned four pairs since then. I have used these glasses for day to day use. I have used them extensively in the field. While participating in an enhance rifle marksmanship range (close range shooting) my glasses took a hot piece of brass and easily deflected it. The brass left a scuff on the lens, but the glasses remained on my face. I replaces the lens and felt like I had a brand new pair of sunglasses. I have used these glasses during two deployments to Iraq. The only problem I had was that the rubber ear pieces would eventually come off. The adhesive keeping the rubber pieces on would degrade so that I would take off the glasses but the rubber piece would remain behind my ear. That's the only reason I have owned numerous pairs. The company now offers replacement parts.

Every company/product seems to have bad quality control these days, but Native seems to take the cake. I've just received my third pair of these glasses in the mail from REI (the first two went back for manufacturing defects), and this pair is going back as well. I'm giving up, and should have after the second pair.I wanted to like these glasses. They're lightweight. They fit my face well, and provide good protection. Sadly, each pair I've had my hands on have had issues with the rubber nose pieces.The first pair had a gap between the rubber and the plastic of the frame. The gap was wide enough such that the edge of the plastic (which would normally mate flush with the rubber) would dig in to the bridge of my nose and cause irritation.The second pair had no gap, but after wearing them a while I noticed more pressure on the right side of my nose than the left. When I took the glasses off I noticed a mark left by the rubber pad. It turns out the left pad was 1/3 as thick as the right (the right appeared to be the "normal" thickness, the left was the runt of the litter), such that the left side would flex considerably and the right wouldn't, exerting more pressure on the right and causing it to dig in.The third pair has the same problem as the first. I had hoped the first two were flukes, and the third would be properly manufactured and comfortable. Sadly, that's not the case, and these are going back. I'm glad REI has the return policy they do, however I wish they didn't stock such poorly QC'ed merchandise in the first place.

Service and delivery comments:

REI service was great, both initial buying experience, return experience, and online ordering. Sadly, the product just doesn't measure up.

Best glasses I've owned, and not the most expensive. They hold up really well and can be worn comfortably for hour after hour, mile after mile. Only drawback is that the lenses have come out twice. Fortunately, their durability left them unscratched.
