The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Polar Insulated Bottle - 20 fl. oz.:
I bought this two weeks ago upon the recommendations of other users. My ride today demonstrated two big reasons this is a great product. I planned on a 2+ hour ride today, so I filled a non-insulated bottle with a sports drink. I packed the Polar Bottle with ice and then filled water to top it off, with plans to drink it in the latter part of the ride. (That the regular bottle can't keep anything cold is a given.)
About 45 minutes into the ride, I felt some cold water hitting my legs. I looked down, and the cap to the Polar Bottle was missing. I didn't screw it on tight and thus lost it. I felt like an idiot - I just bought it.
Okay, here are the two reasons the Polar Bottle is great:
1. Near the end of the ride, there was still a good amount of ice in the bottle. This was two hours later, on Labor Day. And without the cap!
2. I thought I would have to buy a whole new bottle. But I checked online for cap replacements, and found that the Polar Bottle company will mail anyone who loses their cap a new one free of charge. (I checked - the cap of a typical non-insulated bottle just doesn't fit correctly.)
This is a keeper.

Comments about Polar Insulated Bottle - 20 fl. oz.:
I bought this bottle for half the price of a 'Better Bottle' (search for it and you'll get the intentional pun). This one insulates just as well and is easier to drink from than the first bottle I bought and subsequently returned. I like the Polar bottle way better than the Camelbak I tried first. I use it for hiking and just carrying around for my daily water intake. It keeps drinks cold until they are gone and it doesn't sweat. On the down side, the bottle is a little hard to drink from. You have to squeeze it to get anything out of it, and putting my mouth directly on the valve often provides enough pressure to push it closed, or at least limit the flow. Don't misunderstand, I'm still very pleased and would repeat the purchase.
