I bought these rain pants four years ago, and since then I have carried them many hundreds of miles as protective rain gear for backpacking. Until they are needed, I keep them in a dry bag in my pack. They are lightweight, they don't take up much room in the pack, and they are highly waterproof, including the zipper. When a storm rolls in, I dig them out of the pack and slide them on right over my boots.

I bought the 'long' pants even though I am of average height, because the cuffs go right down over my hiking boots, leaving no gaps at the ankle that might let water in. Gaiters fit nicely over your boots and under the pants.

The zipper is the most vulnerable element. A one-inch segment of the zipper snapped off while I was tugging impatiently at the pants on a mountain peak in the rain. Each leg has has one zipper at the top and a second zipper at the bottom, so the pants are still useable, but now there is a gap at the hip. I recommend these pants, but you will need to treat them with respect.

size long is not long. 30" inseam on a Small long, about 3.5 inches to short for me.

Gift for daughter who rides bike to classes/office at college, and she had checked out other brands and wanted this brand - so purchased for her. So, size, color and such already selected as size, color, etc. She likes them!
