I loved these shoes for the first 1.5 months. Great traction, extremely waterproof and amazing tread grip. Vasque seems to fit my narrow feet much better than any other brand on the market. These shoes handled five February days in Death Valley like a pro. I loved the fit, but I had to add special orthotics because of past ankle surgeries, so don't use my review as a means of discerning arch support. Onto the unusually bad... In the last week I noticed a wheezing sound emanating from the soles' heels. Upon further inspection, I found two large tread delamination bubbles under the heels. It's bizarre since the outside parts of the tread are still glued tight, but the heels have poofed a good 3/16 to a 3/8 of an inch beyond the foam padding. It's somewhat unintentionally reminiscent of the the new Reebok women's workout shoes with the "instability bubbles". Needless to say, I'm taking these shoes back today to return them and hopefully get another pair. They were extremely comfortable and I'm very willing to give them another shot. I will also pick up another pair at the [$] price to just have as a reserves. Can't beat the price!
