Comments about Stohlquist Rocker PFD:
This jacket is great. Straps are placed in a location that make it easy to adjust and fit tight. Shoulder straps have a "stiffness" to them which makes the boat easy to carry without the boat digging into your shoulders. The high floation is nice if you have to wet exit in big water but it doesn't get in the way when paddling or rolling. Love this jacket.

Comments about Stohlquist Rocker PFD:
Ever since I got into sailboat racing, I have been looking for a life jacket like this one. This jacket honestly fits like a glove on your body. The amount of mobility I have with this jacket is incomparable to any other jacket. It is really comfortable for wearing all day, I work as a youth sailing instructor and am constantly on and off the water. The jacket is so comfortable that you can honestly unzip and unbuckle the side entry and wear it around on land without even noticing that it is there.

Did everything it said it would. Shoulders aren't adjustable but side adjustments work fine to keep jacket in place. Used it for Swift Water Technician Training and had no problems at all!

Comments about Stohlquist Rocker PFD:
I have paddled about 300 miles in this PFD now, and am enjoying it a lot. I just finished a week-long sea kayak trip here in Alaska and wore this jacket all day, rain and shine, and never felt like it was a burden to have on.
The flotation is concentrated quite low and your shoulders are totally free to move. The side openings are generous so ventilation is pretty decent, though all PFDs tend to make you warm.
The adjustments are quite good though the side-entry system (zipper below your right arm, not on the chest) which forces you to pull the PFD on over your head is a little annoying, but it allows for a larger chest pocket which I do really like. I did cut the mesh side panels off since they were totally redundant to the side adjustment straps that cinch the vest to your chest, and the mesh fabric just tended to bunch up. Otherwise the cut, fabric, and design are well thought out.
There is a very small item stash area right at the top of your chest for a whistle and other small trinkets along with a D-ring for clipping a safety line to for such items. Below that, in front, is a stretchy mesh pouch for a GPS or marine VHF radio (or waterproof iPod case), and behind that is a larger zip pocket which easily holds a few granola bars, tide book, extra hat, etc. The knife lash patch is at your belly button (weird spot) but you can easily put one on the shoulder strap instead. The vest rides low which I like on my low deck sea kayak. If you have a high deck on your boat, the fit may be less ideal since the length of the shoulder straps is not adjustable and you cannot raise the vest in an obvious way.
It's a very comfy PFD and I would recommend it highly for either whitewater or kayak touring on low deck boats.
