Comments about Emotion Kayaks Bliss Kayak:
I found this Kayak as a result of a very positive review in Canoe and Kayak magazine which compared it favorabally to touring kayaks 4x the price of the Bliss. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this boat which has all the convenience of a smaller boat in regards to transporting but the performance, speed, and tracking of a much longer, heavier and more expensive kayak. I just came back from a trip to Tahoe and passed (smoked) many touring type kayaks on the way to Emerald Bay through choppy water. A guy in a recreational boat watching me go by said, "Wow, that is a really fast boat." When he heard the price he couldn't believe it. Really comfortable seat and turns on a dime. I loved getting into and out of the coves and rocks at Tahoe that longer boats can't negotiate. Good in chop, and waves. I've taken it down the American, lots of fun.[...] I am 5-7 and 140 lbs. Can't say enough good things about this little boat. I can't believe more people haven't discovered it. I feel bad for rec boaters crawling by in their bathtub tug boats when they could be paddling the Emotion Bliss for the same price and having a much better ride.

Comments about Emotion Kayaks Bliss Kayak:
I've rented recreational kayaks and canoes before, but this is the first boat I've owned. It's a little longer and more narrow than some of the typical rec boats offered as rentals, which made it feel a little less stable at first, but after a month of use I'm really loving it and glad I didn't go for a 9'5" x 30" bathtub. I appreciate that it tracks better and is faster sleeker than these types of boats. Since I'm mostly using it on lakes, this is a big plus.
I'll probably eventually upgrade to a transitional/touring type kayak, narrower with a little more length, but for now this gets me on the water and is extremely comfortable for a relative beginner. The hull shape, that makes it feel a little tippy at first, actually gives it great secondary stability. I'm 5'3" and 110 lbs. and it fits me well, almost a little wider than I need, and it also fits my 5'10" 145 lbs. husband.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because some deck rigging would be nice. I have to clip my bilge pump and stuff to the little bag behind the seat. Also bulkheads or better flotation than the foam inside would make it better for longer open water crossings, but really for this price you're not going to get those features. I can always get a couple of float bags if I feel I need them.
