Comments about Sigma Sport BC1909 STS Heart Rate / Cadence Computer - Wireless:
I have pretty good experience now with a few bike computers. I have on my mountain bike the CatEye Strada Cadence Wired bike computer, it is an okay unit if you don't mind all the wires and zip ties on your bike. It's on my mountain bike so the wires and zip ties didn't bother me. But I just purchased my first road bike and not to mention it is completely carbon fiber, the bike is beautiful and I didn't want to ruin the LOOK of it with wires everywhere...So I first opted to go with the CatEye Strada Double Wireless bike computer. I liked the idea of wireless this time to keep my bike looking clean and also liked the idea of the all in one cadence/speed sensor. Not to mention the user interface is exactly like the wired one I currently own for my mountain bike so I wouldn't have to learn a new computer. The unit operates just fine but I couldn't stand the big/bulky/ugly all in one cadence/speed sensor. The sensor is huge!!! It looked horrible sitting on my bike, and it was so big and heavy it was tough to keep it in the sensor zone. You need 3mm-5mm of clearance between the magnet and sensor, that is a very small range. The wheel magnet also didn't bite/lock well onto my blade style spokes. I just couldn't stand it any longer, after using the unit for just over two weeks and putting 280 miles on it I returned it and started doing research for a new computer. After browsing REI online I saw the Sigma line of bike computers. I liked the 2 reviews I saw, liked how the cadence and speed sensors we're smaller and separate. So I went down to my local REI and purchased one. What sealed the deal to buy it was when the sales associate opened the box to show me the contents included, there I saw included was the heart rate monitor strap/sensor for your chest! The CatEye unit doesn't even offer heart rate and this unit does all for only [$] more. So I got home and promptly started installing the computer on my road bike. The moment I opened the box every part seemed to have much better quality than any other bike computer I've used. The bike magnets are very heavy duty and mounted to my bike like they were meant for it. And you don't even have to use zip ties with this thing. They also come with o-rings that are much easier to use for mounting, plus they are removable is you ever want to take the sensors off, not permanent like annoying zip ties. And you also get up to 12mm of clearance between the magnet and sensor zone, 12mm is far better and greater than 3mm on the CatEye unit. FYI 12mm is a half inch, plenty of room.I was a bit nervous about just mounting the 2 sensors with o-rings and the computer on my stem. But I installed everything successfully/easily and went out for a 20 mile ride in just over an hour. Needless to say I went over some harsh road bumps, dips what have you and all the sensors stayed in place perfectly with the o-rings. The screen tells you everything you need to know and you don't need to scroll through constantly like the CatEye unit. I am very happy I found this unit, the quality is very high, mounts much better than the two CatEye units I mentioned and this computer is sold at a bang for your buck price.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1909 STS Heart Rate / Cadence Computer - Wireless:
It lasted for less than 100 miles. The speed stopped displaying while traveling between 18 and 29 MPH. Took it back and got another. Replaced the speed sensor and the 2nd didn't work over 15 MPH. Returned it and I'm looking for a new one, different brand. One bike shop told me that they quit carrying Sigma because of the problems [...]

Had two of these and both broke. If you purchase this product please never drop it because if the product is dropped from any height it will shatter and be unusable.
Make it more durable Sigma, it's an outdoor bike computer not crystal dinnerware.
Made cheap and not to last - beware!

Was pretty easy to install and got it working immediately. I use HR, cadence, speed, and the resulting calories burned. I am doing intervals in preparation for the upcoming 200 mile STP. Perfect for the fitness nerd.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1909 STS Heart Rate / Cadence Computer - Wireless:
Great Buy...But be warned sigma has a high rate of return. The first unit i bought the heart rate monitor would not register. everything else worked fine, but this was a big inconvenience. Returned it got a new one worked great. Everything is very accurate including cadence and heart rate. keeps good speed and doesn't pick up any interference. Would have gave it a 5star but the inconvenience of returning it brings it down to a 4star. [...]

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1909 STS Heart Rate / Cadence Computer - Wireless:
These comments come after 40 plus hours on the bike and 700 plus miles...
The read out on this computer is great. easy to read in shade and bright sun. the readouts are large enough to see yet still indicated three points of metrics.
It is easy to move thru the modes. The buttons to change modes are small and a bit tough get to some time but I also would not want them to be any bigger.
I am not sure that the temperature is entirely accurate, but it is close enough.
I did have some issues with the cadence not reading from time to time and then it all together stopped working. Knowing my cadence was 50% of the reason I purchased this model so I was forced to return the unit. I hope that I just had a defective model and that my new unit will be just fine. When I installed the new unit I was able to carry over my data from the old unit so I can still easily know what my total ride time and total mile is for the season.
ps: As a REI Member..Thank you REI for a GREAT return policy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1909 STS Heart Rate / Cadence Computer - Wireless:
I don't think there's a triple wireless computer w/ included heart monitor anywhere close, and it's easier than the Cateye V3 even if it did cost as much. Great, too, that for indoor training it picks up the sensor signal on a rear wheel mount (I don't think the REI page notes this). At 1st the 4-button design seemed complex, but in practice it's fast & safe while riding - you only use 2 buttons (the others are for settings), and there's way less scrolling through functions this way.
One reviewer wisely noted it can flip out of the mount on a good bump. I found that out the hard way, but the fix was easy: Lay two 1' x 1/8' strips of masking tape along the edge of the circular protrusion on the computer's bottom, not covering up the mounting tabs. This adds just the right extra diameter and stick so the computer will stay put. One other thought is to cut a screen-protector film on the display, in case of spills. The Sigma training log software is another nice extra, but as I didn't buy the USB dock I guess you could manually enter data from any bike computer.
After 2,000 + miles, I'd buy this again in a moment.

Comments about Sigma Sport BC1909 STS Heart Rate / Cadence Computer - Wireless:
I'd never heard of Sigma before I spotted this computer. I was looking to upgrade to cadence and heart rate and was hoping to bring it home for under $200. The BC1909 fit the bill.
So far, after 2 long hard rides, it's right on. Mileage matched a buddy's GPS perfectly. And the heart strap didn't pinch or slip like some I've used. The only complaint I have is that the wheel magnet is bulky compared to my CatEye, but it works on the rear wheel unlike the CatEye.
One nice thing is that it comes with O-rings so you can temporally install the pickups and test the locations. Which is nice.
