This helmet fits me well, and i like the dial adjustment. good ventilation.
More importantly, having just survived being hit by a car at a good speed, I wanted to add to the reviews that this helmet does it's job. I landed on my head and rolled, and while other parts of me are broken, I have zero damage to my head. The helmet has a perfect crack in the foam and some crumples on the top. Shockingly few scratches to the paint. I credit this helmet with saving me some serious neurological damage.
And, in the end, that's the most important part, right?

I purchased an LGarneau Equinox, another LGarneau Robota, and a Limar 710 from REI Outlet all at the same time, intending to keep the best one and return the other two. I kept the Limar. Here's my take on the LG Robota:Felt lightweight. I tried on the Equinox first, then the Robota. Both are L. Garneau helmets, both use a similar adjustment knob on the back. The Robota "felt" better. The knob was ringed with rubber (or similar friction material), and turned easier. The Equinox just didn't adjust smoothly. The Robota fit a little "off". Maybe adjusting the pads and another few minutes on the straps would have helped, but once I tried on the Limar I knew it would fit better than the Robota. Granted, I have a huge head. I did LIKE the strap adjustment on the Robota. Each adjustment "Y" and the buckles have a flip-opening function so you can make quick adjustments.If nothing else, this is a great reason to try before you buy. [...]I've written reviews on the other two helmets.
Service and delivery comments:
Ordered on 7/27/10. Chose free shipping to REI. Got the "Your order has shipped" email on 8/11. That email said the order should (have?) arrive(d?) at the store on 8/10 (a day before it was shipped?). NEVER got any notice the order had arrived. No email, no phone call.
On 8/16 I happened to be in the same area as the REI store, so I went in.
Lo and Behold! there was my order, with my name and info on the box.
Still haven't gotten an email saying my order as arrived!
BUT, I got free shipping, and returned a portion of my order at the store, so they shipped it back for free too.
Everyone at the store was friendly.
