    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses - Men's is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Planned obsolescence? I have owned 4 pairs of these over 5 years. Native improved the frame design in 2010 to stop the hinges from breaking (finally). Now the ear pieces unglue themselves... I just returned my last set. I like these but they break, fall apart and generally can't be relied on. Makes me sad but I've moved on to Maui Jim's. It's like Native designs the stuff to break/fall apart :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Break easily,"warranty" requires payment The good: I used these glasses for about 3 years for bicycling and hiking. The three lens options were great for various light conditions (dark polarized, and iridescent lenses come with the purchase and clear lenses come by free mail-order). They were always comfortable, but fogged like crazy riding in the wet Northwest winter--maybe inadequate ventilation, maybe that's just the way it is. They look great and provide great coverage peripherally with the XP lenses, but the frame shape makes it hard to see over the top of the lenses while riding in a more aero position. The bad: The adhesive on the sticky rubber parts on the ends of the sidearms degraded quickly and they'd slide off. The interchangeable temples seemed like a good idea, but the engineering makes them too weak to hold. They'd come apart off if torqued at all while taking the glasses off, and eventually temples/sidearms became brittle and broke--cracking apart while using the provided tool to change them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sunglasses After 4 years of being stepped on and used constantly in all environments, my old pair split around the frame. I bought some more because they were the best sunglasses I've ever used, and they are relatively cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Natives-the only sunglasses I will buy. This pair of sunglasses was for my husband and he loves them. Best fitting and most comfortable sunglasses he has owned. I own several pairs and find them the go to sunglasses. One pair is 7 yrs old. Save your receipt and box so if something happens, you can have repaired by native. I had a pair (7 Yrs) and the tint on the lens got mottled. Returned to Native and they replaced lens for free. Good product and Native stands behind their products.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sunglasses for active folks I purchased the Hardtop XP glasses with interchangeable lenses two months ago. I've used them pretty much every day since then, for both exercise (biking, Nordic walking, hiking) and fieldwork. Positives: The polarized, mirrored lenses do exactly what they are supposed to do, greatly improving my vision and reducing eyestrain in the sun. The face-fitting frame design gives me good coverage, especially on the sides, and they sit well on my face. They don't slip, even with sweat and/or sunscreen lubrication. The zippered case is really useful for protecting the glasses when they are stowed in my pack. Negatives: If I am working hard, the air is very still, and it is humid (not an uncommon combination here in central Ohio), the glasses fog up from the inside. If there is a hint of a breeze it clears, likely due to the flow-through design of the frame, but it does require a slight draft. Regarding the interchangeable lenses: 1) The instruction sheet that came with the glasses shows a different shaped lens for the Hardtops than the current model (a point on one side and a notch on the other side is shown, the current lenses have points on both sides), so it is a little unclear how to easily pop them out and in. 2) The alternative lenses (light brown/yellow; much less pigmented) are not polarized. I guess the adage of buyer beware applies, but to advertise these as polarized sunglasses with interchangeable lenses, and then to have only one set of lenses polarized, I found a bit cheesy.
