Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
I have owned 4 pairs of these over 5 years. Native improved the frame design in 2010 to stop the hinges from breaking (finally). Now the ear pieces unglue themselves... I just returned my last set. I like these but they break, fall apart and generally can't be relied on. Makes me sad but I've moved on to Maui Jim's. It's like Native designs the stuff to break/fall apart :(

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
After 4 years of being stepped on and used constantly in all environments, my old pair split around the frame. I bought some more because they were the best sunglasses I've ever used, and they are relatively cheap.

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
The good: I used these glasses for about 3 years for bicycling and hiking. The three lens options were great for various light conditions (dark polarized, and iridescent lenses come with the purchase and clear lenses come by free mail-order). They were always comfortable, but fogged like crazy riding in the wet Northwest winter--maybe inadequate ventilation, maybe that's just the way it is. They look great and provide great coverage peripherally with the XP lenses, but the frame shape makes it hard to see over the top of the lenses while riding in a more aero position.
The bad: The adhesive on the sticky rubber parts on the ends of the sidearms degraded quickly and they'd slide off. The interchangeable temples seemed like a good idea, but the engineering makes them too weak to hold. They'd come apart off if torqued at all while taking the glasses off, and eventually temples/sidearms became brittle and broke--cracking apart while using the provided tool to change them.
Service and delivery comments:
REI suggested I make use of the Native Lifetime "Warranty" online. To replace the defective sidearms, Native demands a "processing fee" of $30, which is more than the sidearms are worth. I don't consider it a warranty if they are *selling*, rather than replacing the defective parts. Thankfully, REI will take them back and credit me so I can purchase another brand. I rarely take advantage of member returns, but here I think it's justified, as the manufacturer doesn't stand behind their products.

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
Surprised that people find the frames flimsy. They *need* to be flexible to allow for lens swaps. I change lenses 4-8x/wk and have had no problems with durability. The lenses themselves are STRONG. This eyewear is comfortable, stylish, and the different lens types are convenient for different light conditions (e.g., day vs. twilight rides). Only complaints are that: (1) lenses could be a *little* easier to swap out (little bit of a learning curve), and; (2) would LOVE it if the lenses had vent holes across the top to prevent fogging. Overall, I like these a lot.

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
I've now had two pairs break at the same location on the frames (the temples at the hinge). I've owned many pairs of sunglasses over my 48 years and never have had sunglasses break on me (e.g. Suncloud, Oakley, Vuarnet, etc.). I mostly wear these for driving, golf and hiking. The temples seem very brittle so I'm going to return these and go for another style or brand that isn't as fragile.

Own and operate Landscaping business, spend most of my time out side. I were these glasses all the time when working. If properly cleaned they will not scratch. The glasses have vent at the top of frame which allow air in between the lens and your face. The vents prevent fog and also keep sweat off them.

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
I've had mine for two years. They have a couple minor scratches which is to be expected with glasses this old... so long as you take care of them. I've had no problems and they work great in all settings. The only issue I have is the price. It's too steep!

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
Nice looking shades, comfortable, and blocks the sun well. However, the strap that comes with them is of very poor design. I lost the glasses once in Italy, but went back and found them where they fell. Used the strap again today and now they seem gone for good.

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
Just looking for a cool alternative to oakleys. Use it for running and some XC skiing and just wearing around. fairly comfortable, nothing profound.
The extra set of lenses don't fit right. Tried to put them in, frames ended up bent. Even called and asked if I was putting the lenses in right. Very frustrating. May as well just buy two pairs.
Certainly not worth the price.

Comments about Native Eyewear Hardtop XP Reflex Polarized Sunglasses:
Super lightweight, great optics. Use the interchangeable lenses often. Never fog up while running or biking. Saw other reviews on the temples. Newer versions must have a more solid temple construction as they dont interchange. No issues here
