Comments about Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T Tandem Kayak:

I bought this kayak specifically so I could bring my 35-pound border collie mix along for short 2-3 hour trips since he no longer fits in any of my other kayaks. And it was on sale. I am a smaller paddler at 5'6", 125 lbs.

Pros: Super stable. I hardly noticed the dog was back there moving around. He could lie down and enjoy the ride. Also plenty of room for everything. Getting in and out took zero effort. Also slightly lighter than other 14' kayaks. Gets the job done if you want to spend a leisurely day on the lake. Front seat has a good bit of adjustment room.

Cons: Akin to paddling a bathtub if you are by yourself. I consider this to be a minivan of kayaks; good for hauling lots of stuff, but it isn't going to win any races. It is WIDE, and in my opinion, not suitable for covering long distances. Tracking is okay, but not spectacular.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T Tandem Kayak:

I am an out-of-shape, over-weight, middle-aged man. I bought this kayak as a means of getting some exercise. My wife joined me to help encourage me. On our first trip, we went to an urban lake. It's great! We did not dump our selves into the lake and were able to manoeuvre around the lake just fine. The large cockpit opening made entry quite simple - even for us. The only drawback to this boat is that it is very long -- which makes storing and transporting a little difficult. Do not worry though, it's not heavy for two people to carry to the lake.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T Tandem Kayak:

We bought 2 for family fun. We fish, paddle our kids around, take friends out...
Rescue: we can scramble in without a paddle float(this is rare for kayaks). boat is tough to empty if it becomes swamped and you don't have the assistance of another boat or the shore. will not sink completely.
wind blows water from upwind paddle to downwind paddler.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pamlico 135T Tandem Kayak:

We have looked at this kayak for one year. Finally, at the REI sale we purchased this great tandem kayak. We were out today in the Newport Back Bay and had a wonderful time. She rides smoothly and the entry was easy. Amazingly, she stayed relatively dry on the inside. What a delight. Can't wait to go kayaking again next weekend!
