Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Batteries - Package of 4:

I originally bought the Eneloops for old Pentax DSLR camera and they worked great recharge after recharge. The best part is that they are low-self discharge, meaning that if they are left sitting they still retain most of their power after a year. Most people may not realize how quickly older types of rechargeable batteries lose their charge if left unused for even a few weeks; bad news for uses such as emergency flashlights. Other battery now have their own low-self discharge offerings, but I still get the best performance out of the same Eneloops for the past four years.

One tip, get a good charger that recharges each battery individually. Most chargers only recharges batteries in pairs, which means that one battery may become full and trigger the charger to stop, even before the other battery has the chance to fully charge. I have a La Crosse charger, and I've heard that Maha is another popular one that charges batteries individually.

One complaint about REI is that they don't sell the AAA Eneloops. How come? They sell lots of tools that use AAA batteries, including the headlamp that lights me home almost every night. I had to source my AAA Eneloops from elsewhere and they're the best low-self discharge batteries I've ever used for my headlamp.

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Batteries - Package of 4:

I've been using eneloops for slightly over a year and can't say enough good things about them. I currently have about 40 in constant rotation in my business.

I am a professional photographer, which makes me a rechargeable battery aficionado. It seems like I'm switching out 4 AA batteries about every 4 hours in my line of work. If I was using disposable batteries, that can be prohibitively expensive, and add a lot of toxic waste to the landfills.

Eneloops last very long for a rechargeable, and provide a consistant voltage over the duration of a charge. This makes them suitable for electronics, LED lamps, and other finicky devices. The biggest drawback is that they operate on 1.2 volts instead of 1.5 like a standard disposable alkaline. You may find that high drawing devices like a camera flash take longer to recycle the charge and generate more heat because of the voltage variance, but it's a small price to pay for the cost savings and environmental benefits to a rechargeable.

After 1 year of heavy use, my Eneloops are still nearly as effective as the first day.

        Highly recommend.

Comments about Sanyo Eneloop AA Batteries - Package of 4:

This is hands down one of the best investment.

I use these Eneloop with my Nikon flash unit, and it recycles fast, and keeps on ticking. I love the fact that Sony repackaged these and sold them as their own(they're that good!) So I've bought a bunch and have been phasing out throw away batteries, it cost me around $50 initially to switch everything, but it's worth it in the long run with these benefits: Minimized waste, longer lasting than Alkaline batteries, and resilient usage in the cold climates.
