Comments about Timbuk2 Hidden Messenger:
I recently bought this for an upcoming trip and tested it around town a few times. Overall, I was very pleased with the bag.
Pros:
-Small size: it folds down into a really small pouch and takes up next to no room in your suitcase. Also, if you don't feel like folding it up into the pouch, it's still pretty small and easy to stuff into another bag.
-Capacity: You can fit a surprising amount of stuff in it. I put a ladies windbreaker, guide book, digital camera, wallet, water bottle, phone, and scarf into it easily and still had room for a few more small things.
-Durability: The bag seems very durable for the type of material it's made of. I wouldn't expect to throw it around and load it up with bricks like you could a regular Timbuk2 bag, but it seems pretty solidly made.
Cons:
-Lack of pockets: The pouch turns into a small pocket inside that's big enough for a wallet and maybe your keys, but other than that, there's no internal organization. So, your stuff may get all jumbled up easily.
-Security: It was really easy for me to just reach in and grab my wallet without opening the bag, which means it would be easy for a pickpocket to do the same.
Overall, I think that the convenience far outweighs the drawbacks for my uses and I'm very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Timbuk2 Hidden Messenger:
I've been looking for a messenger bag that doesn't weigh too much and that I can throw my things in for daily use, basically like a purse. This little light bag is exactly what I was looking for. I can stash just my wallet, or add more gear as I go for a workout, to the beach, or a quick shopping or grocery trip. I like the simple color scheme that goes with anything. The tag on the outside can hold a blinker light when I'm cycling at night. I expect this would be great for travel as well.
THe only possible drawbacks are 1 - a lack of inner organization, 2 - you can easily reach in the bag while it is closed, and 3- the inner pocket is made of thicker fabric, which makes it heavy. The first two drawbacks are a tradeoff for its lightness and simplicity. The third might be thought of as a feature, since it folds into the pocket, but I can't think of a situation where I will need the bag to be compact and empty. These aspects were obvious when I bought it, and don't affect my overall love of this bag. I might have to get both colors.

Comments about Timbuk2 Hidden Messenger:
The whole point of this bag is that it is lightweight and packable, so naturally it doesn't hold shape very well. There is almost no structure. The fabric is somewhat thin, haven't tested it in the rain, but I suspect it is mildly water resistant. I used this bag on a light hiking trip and it was perfect, the strap is comfortable and the weight of my water, camera, bug dope etc felt well distributed. I bought the bag in prep for a month long roadtrip, and I think it will be perfect for when I want to use it, and will stow easily when I don't.
I love the rich purple color.
