I use my backpack for school and it is perfect. I do not carry a laptop with me but I like that it has that extra padded sleeve for the laptop because it makes it more comfortable on my back as I am normally carrying 2 really full 3-ring binders and at least 2 very heavy textbooks and all my personal stuff. When I have it full of all of that, I still have room for a water bottle, a travel coffee cup, and extra clothes. When I have the chest strap clipped the weight is perfectly distributed even if I have a full bag. I am a normal sized 5ft 8in female if that helps anyone figure out if it would work for you. The chest strap slides up and down so it would work for different heights. I hoping that it will be as rugged as it seems.
