The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Big Agnes Three Wire eVent Bivy:
Big Agnes recently updated this product. The 2010 model is red/charcoal with the poles on the outside, previous models were orange with the poles on the inside.
Previous models did have an all eVent top, but the updated 2010 model is only eVent on the red fabric area. The charcoal colored footbox area is not breathable at all, and will collect a considerable amount of condensation.
When I used this in below freezing temps this winter, I used it with a synthetic bag, and the condensation in the footbox area was in the form of frost (it just brushed away, no big deal). Using this in above freezing temps for the first time this spring with a down bag resulted in a soaked sleeping bag end (I had the storm flap fully open to allow for maximum ventilation).
If BA made the entire top eVent, this would be an amazing bivy shelter, but I consider the 3/4 only length "eVent top" a deal breaker. On the plus side, it sets up in less than 2 minutes, it is very easy to get into and out of, it will fit a large size therm-a-rest (25" width), and is very roomy inside (I can roll from side to side over the night without any problem...I'm 6'2" 215).
If I had purchased from REI I would have returned it. If you have a DWR finish on your sleeping bag it might not be an issue.

Comments about Big Agnes Three Wire eVent Bivy:
I have the previous version. The external pole setup is a definite improvement over the old system, which could be a real bear in bad weather. The non-eVent footbox is just a bad idea, as another reviewer noted. And the entry zipper is too short. Another foot of zipper would allow you to sit & swing your legs into the bag instead of using the contortionist maneuver that is necessary now. The sad thing is that you can find several reviews of this bivy on the web, going back several years, and they all complain about the short entry zipper. Apparently the Big Agnus guys don't bother reading those reviews because though many complained about the zipper, I found none who suggested that a non-breathable footbox would be an improvement.

Comments about Big Agnes Three Wire eVent Bivy:
Before I bought this bivy I did a fair amount of research and determined this to be the ultimate one man tent. After using it for a year I would buy it again, but I do have one complaint. Lying on your back the zipper is on the right hand side and I believe most right handed people have sleeping bags with zippers on the left hand side. It make getting in a little more difficult especially if it's raiing or there are lots of bugs you'd rather not have in your bivy with you. Solution is to get a left handed sleeping bag.

Comments about Big Agnes Three Wire eVent Bivy:
This thing is pretty sweet. Yes it does collect a bit of condensation in the foot area but not enough to really cause any trouble. This thing is light fast and comfortable. I use an exped synmat 7 dlx and it fits fine. Even with this monster pad it never compressed my marmot pinnacle at all. It truly bridges the gap between tents and bivys. It was not claustrophobic at all and is free standing. It can be set up anywhere in a minute and a half if needed. I would not mind waiting out a storm in this thing. I have used gore-tex bivys before and even with the non-breathable foot box, I would say it is more breathable than than those (military bivy). I am 6'3" 225
