I've owned tons of army knives, or combo gadgets, but this is the ONLY one I always carry with me. Stays on my keychain all the time, never gets taken away at airports or concerts. The blade, saw blade and bottle opener are the most useful. Weighs nothing.

At first glance, I was intrigued by the compact design & the advertised versatility. Unfotunately, it didn't quite live up to expectations. While the combo straight/serrated blade came in handy for some jobs like carboard boxes and thick plastic wrap, the entire tool had the tendency to collapse with too much pressure. Opening it was totally awkward to begin with, having to first find the correct side to slip my thumbnail in & pry the blade open. it also requires 2 hands to open, which means leaving your key ring hanging while you open it. The bottle opener was inadequate, & no matter what, I was always a bit fearful of slipping and slicing myself.

Bit of a step back in Swiss engineering IMHO.

Was given one of these as a gift and it sat in a drawer for a couple years as it wasn't a "real" knife in my mind. (I tend to usually have a keychain Victorinox thumb-drive/knife with me, which seemed like enough). Finally decided to just start carrying it rather than wasting it. Glad I did as it's really very handy. Knife blade is good for cutting open boxes, feed bags, or other strapping like smaller zip-ties. Bottle opener works in a pinch and the screwdrivers are sized to most small jobs - the small Philips is especially good for small electronics. Makes a good complement to the small keychain Victorinox knives as the blade can be used for rougher jobs, it has the bottle opener and a Philips screwdriver. I've never flown with it but I'm tempted to try it as it's relatively inexpensive so I'm willing to risk it. It can be easily sharpened with one of those V-roller sharpeners. Only downsides are that the Philips driver is pointy and can jab you through your pocket sometimes and the "grip" end of the tool in knife-mode is not exactly ergonomic. Still, it's the size of a key so what's really to complain about?

It really is, as previously stated, no substitute when I don't have one of my regular size multi-tools on me. But it still helps to get many small tasks accomplished.

The smallest flat-head driver gets the most use of anything with me, to tighten screws on glasses. The saw even worked on cutting plastic tags off of store-bought items. I use the blade for scraping, not cutting, as I see it as no replacement for a knife blade which I also always carry. Such a handy item to have on you and it's always there!

I have this with me all the time. (I'm on my third, having lost two!) It's not a substitute for a regular knife or multi-tool, but it's very handy, quite cheap, weighs next to nothing and is always there on my keyring. I mostly use the knife blade to open packages, cut baling twine, and a multitude of other minor jobs, rather than dig out one of my Swiss Army knives or Leatherman or Gerber multi-tools. I sometimes use the screwdrivers, as well. The bottle opener feature is a bit dicy, as the knife blade is exposed.

The Utili-Key is much more convenient and sturdy than the "credit card" tools, unless, of course, you need a toothpick or tweezers.

Given the price, there's little reason NOT to get one--or two!

This key is great. It NEVER leaves my keychain. Ditto to the other 2 reviews.

My only complaint is the knife dulls very quickly. I'm on my second multi-too key because the serrations on my first one got worn down to nothing.
