I have three bikes: a triathlon bike, a commuter bike, and a road bike. I bought this for my commuter bike. I'm not afforded fun and girlie accessories for my tri or road bikes because of training and added weight, but for my commuter bike I wanted to jazz it up with a more girlie and fun feel. This basket fit the bill.

The basket it well made, attractive, and very classic. It is slightly more closed at the top of the basket making it harder for things to fall out once it is installed. It was easy to install onto my handlebars. The leather straps simply buckle on. Once installed, my bike immediately looked more classic and attractive. I ended up purchasing a picnic basket that can strap onto my rear rack to match and I'm a very happy girl!

The main reason I bought this basket was for its appearance, but the functionality is also superb.

At first I thought this basket would be too big, but it is the perfect size for heading to the park with snacks and a bottle of wine. It makes my bike look very "classic". I have recieved many compliments.

I just LOVE this basket! To preface my comments I must disclose that I used to be a mad cyclist riding fast and taking risks, and there was a time not so long ago that I would have looked down my nose at a basket on a bike. I just thought they were... dorky. But now, (many falls later), I've decided to become more of a cruiser enjoying the scenery, and I purchased a beautiful Cannondale hybrid with higher handlebars. My new bike is a girly girl and this basket is the perfect accessory for her. It's curvy and classy, not AT ALL dorky, and it holds my water bottle (so I don't need a cage), a snack, keys, wallet, sunscreen, etc. It has a little brass plaque on the front that says "Nantucket Bike Basket Co.", and anyone familiar with Nantucket baskets knows they cost a fortune, so the really reasonable price of this basket is a bonus as well. I rode over some bumps today and it didn't bounce at all. (I put the straps on tight). All in all I would say this is a great product and I'm very happy with it!

I just got this basket and it is a beauty. It was so easy to install on my handlebars. It looks to be well made - the materials do not feel cheap or weak. It is narrow thru the opening which I liked and it has some decent depth - so you could put things in without feeling like they may fall out. I have yet to really ride around wtih it so how well it really takes to bouncing around remains to be seen....So far, so good.
