I bought the owl water bottle, ran it through the dishwasher one time, and half the paint washed off. I've never had that happen with other painted metal water bottles. It's NOT DISHWASHER SAFE. This means, I'm not likely to use it. I'm tired of finding paint flecks on all my other dishes and there's so much flaking paint that I can't drink out of it without eating paint chips. I will NOT buy a water bottle made by this company again.

Santa delivered two of these bottles to my teenage daughters. At first they were great: cute, right-sized, and with the handy carabiner. But. The print wore right off of both of them, and the threads stripped on the one so that we can no longer get the top off. I might still consider buying another at the right sale price, but would prefer a bigger, more durable lid, preferably one that's attached to the bottle.

This Stainless Steel Bottle was very appealing considering that SS has the least probability to contaminate water. I'm still skeptical about BPA free bottle... What else to be bad for you that we don't know? Aluminum is the same thing since they are actually lined with "BPA Free" plastic as well. So this bottle is good in that it's healthier, it has minimal metal taste and it seems durable.

Being used to the Nalgene polycarbonate bottles, however, here are some of the problems I have with the interface. (1) The mouth piece is small. Although, it's great to not have too much water coming out at once, there's no real easy solution to clean the inside w/o getting a bottle brush. (2) Small mouth piece = small cap. I used to be able to spin the lid shut easily and quickly with the Nalgene bottles. With this bottle, it's not that easy screw in the lid correctly. (3) The Lid is not leashed to the bottle. Once it's opened, you will need to drink with 1 hand and hold the cap with the other. (4) Poor insulation – if the water is ice cold, you will feel it when you hold it. Good luck keeping your backpack dry with the condensation of moisture outside the bottle. (5) It's NOT MADE IN THE USA. If I buy from Nalgene which is made in the U.S., I feel like at least I can support our domestic economy. I'll check out Nalgene's stainless steel bottles one of these days. :)

I did return it at the end in search for an ideal bottle.

I had been contemplating a move to a steel bottle for a while, and finally when this one had a deal on it, I got it. I got the steel colored one with the black floral design. I found that the lid isn't easy to put on in a rush, it seems that the threads are a bit too fine. I also didn't care for the narrow bottle neck, which meant I had to crush ice before putting it in for a long hot hike. Lastly, the decals started peeling off in a month or so, and the bottle looked really crummy from the outside.

This Waterbox bottle is easy to use, easy to carry, easy to store and is really sharp looking! Waterbox obviously knows what they're doing unlike so many others rushing to market. I heard they are launching an absolutely amazing new line of bottles that are unique in design and shape. I will visit your site weekly in anticipation of this event!! I want them!!

I bought the blue bottle as a gift for my daughter to use everyday at school because she is crazy about owls. It accidentally went into the dishwasher once and much of the paint peeled off. We decided to order another bottle and be more careful with hand washing. After a short period of time the paint around the mouth started to peel. Additionally it is hard to position the cap to screw on. It's not at all like my Sigg bottle where the threads drop into place and a with a light tap of my index finger the top is secure.

The size of this bottle is great. The lid leaks unless it's screwed on really tightly and the threads are so fine that it makes it a chore to get off and on. I wouldn't buy this again or recommend it.

This is just what I was looking for. Specifically: stainless, 750 ml capacity, good price. I want the bottle to use to mix Bob's Red Mill nonfat milk, so it needed to be close to American liquid measurement, the long and tall was also nice in the refer.

Having said that it will not be easy to clean, but I have a bottle brush and the stainless can take a shot of bleach if necessary.

I am in the process of replacing all my poly-type bottles with stainless, when I find one with the right price. However if you are looking for a bottle to handle daily abuse and not look old before its time, easy to drink out of, etc., there are probably others out there at about the same price when on sale.

For me it works and the white owls sort of look like milk???

I have two of these - other than the paint wearing off one of them I have had no problems. I didn't buy it for looks so the paint does not really bother me. I use them often for kayaking and cycling. I use the small carabiner for leverage when opening and closing it and to hook onto a bungee on my kayak. I have not had problems with cross threading or leaking,though I have had both those issues with my shorter but similar sigg bottle. I use it mainly for water, but I have noticed that it holds a bottle of wine nicely.

I loved the graphics but it wears off with normal handling. The lid was good at first but after several months and hand washing, the gasket allows fluid to leak out when the bottle is tipped or shaken.
