Comments about SealLine Urban Shoulder Bag - Small:
It's nice to get something made in the U.S., not overseas, and this is even manufactured in Seattle - one-third of the granola-smoking Berkeley-Boulder-Seattle Triumvirate. I would give this bag 3.75 stars for now, mostly because I am concerned that the capacity is too limited and the clips that hold the bag closed are placed too low. The bag, brand new, clips most easily on the highest clip position; the other two clip positions require pulling the flap down hard, bowing the bag. Filling it up may make it impossible to close. Of course, this could be meant to hold limited contents super-snug while riding your bike through a rain storm (this line of gear has a lot of adverse weather/situation bags). Time will tell if I can get this bag to stretch its capacity; it has interesting inside pockets, but it doesn't look like it will hold more than a netbook and some pens (five slots) and maybe a small wallet, while lunch could get squished. It has two bottle pockets on the inside, which is great for securing bottles from falling off but I tend to like water bottles on the outside to keep stuff (papers, electronics) on the inside from accidentally getting wet. There is a large pocket for file folders *or* a netbook/iPad *or* an e-reader (Nook or Kindle) but you will want padding for any electronics (sold separately). There is a small zippered mesh pocket with a pocket behind, and a pocket behind the pen pocket. The rubbery shoulder pad scratches easily, but has a superior ventilated panel, as does the back of the bag. It is PVC-free and tests well in the rain (papers printed on inkjet and left in bag while hung on fence overnight DID NOT WRINKLE OR SMEAR).
