got this pack for my Pembroke Welsh Corgi to take into the Sierra on a 7 day trip. The fit was fine. However, when I tried to pick him up to carry him over a stream crossing he slipped out of it. It needs an additional belly band that attaches to the chest band. Luckily I sew so I can make the needed alterations. Pannier size is good and it did hold up well against rock rubbing.
