Comments about Boker Ceramic Gamma Knife:
good idea and it does stay sharp longer than your typical knife but the biggest problem is you can't use it like a normal knife. Everybody, and i mean everybody, will eventually need to pry, chisel, or bang away at something with their knife and you can't do any of those things safely with this knife. That is the biggest problem. It's like having a hammer with a handle made out of lead crystal. it will hammer nails but a useful hammer it is not...
The other huge drawback is of course this knife basically can't be sharpened by the end user. Although i have never had to sharpen my little knife, a friend bought a ceramic blade when they first came out, he sent it back to the factory to be sharpened and the edge it came back with was a complete mess. It's been sitting on a shelf ever since. They do go dull, do not believe those who say their knife a still has a like-new razor edge after a lot of use.
I can only recommend this as a cool thing to have, trust me when i say you will never ever in your life see this type of knife as the only knife packed a hunter, survivalist or hardcore adventurer.
