The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gerber Mini Covert FAST Serrated Knife:
This is a great knife at a decent price. I've owned this knife for close to 9 months - after moderately regular use for various tasks for that time period, the blade is still sharp, the locking mechanism is perfect (no wiggle at all), and the blade deploy mechanism is still as quick as ever. Everything is very sturdy and tight.
The knife is relatively strong - I've used it for prying things apart, used the handle for pushing on things, etc. and everything is in great shape.
Being a folding knife, it is naturally annoying to clean without some sort of sprayer or something to get in the cracks, but that goes for all folding knives. The spring assist, which makes the knife open very quickly when the thumb stud is pushed on, can be surprising for some people, so do let them know before you just lend them your knife (surprised one of my friends upon opening it).
It doesn't curve like most other folding knives, but I prefer that personally. The grip looks abrasive, but it's actually not bad (it won't give you rub burns or anything). The blade is painted black, and after use it is easy to scratch it up, and it won't look that great, but then again it is a tool.
The only possible complaint I could make is that the clip that is attached to it is VERY stiff, enough that it has damaged my pants pockets from putting it on and taking it off.
I will say that I anticipate the spring assist wearing somewhat after a couple of years. My friend owned one as well, and he opened and closed the knife constantly, all day long while doing anything - after about 6 months of that treatment, I could tell a difference between the spring pressure of his knife and of mine.
The spring assist does make you feel pretty cool when using it :)

Comments about Gerber Mini Covert FAST Serrated Knife:
If you use the knife occasionally, you shouldn't ever have a problem with this knife. I use this knife daily in a wet and dirty environment. The only issues I have ever had with the knife is dirt/sand getting into the knife, having to take it apart to clean and the screws holding the knife together coming very loose and almost getting lost.
If you ever take it apart to clean, use a T6 screwdriver to do so and locktite to secure the screws from getting lost. The blade steel is excellent and I use only a very hard stone to bring back the edge. The serrated part has given me trouble because of some items I cut with it and does not seem to hold the same edge as the non-serrated part of the blade. The textured grip feels good in the hand even when wet.
I would buy another Gerber of this style but secure the screws with locktite first.
If you will mostly just carry and not use it, the screws should be ok but do check them.
