Comments about BugBand Insect Repelling Band - Glow-in-the-Dark:
I figured these are cheap enough that ill give them a shot. I was really intrigued to use these for weekend hiking trips so I would not have to apply bugspray and stay slightly cleaner.
I started off my hike and there were no bugs. About half an hour later some fly/gnats came out and I pulled this out and strapped it to my sternum strap (I figured this was closer no my head and since bugs like c02 this is where they mostly are.) It seemed to work and the bugs disappeared. I was happy and left it on all day and it was effective. I stored in two zip lock bags overnight to keep it from loosing its effectiveness.
The next day I again started without it and soon took it out. It did nothing. I then swapped it out for some picardin spray - bam the bugs were gone.
There were no mosquitoes or black flies (at least that I saw) on the trip.
I would say this could be effective at local parks or backyard BBQ where bugs are out, but not in high concentrations. I would NOT depend upon this product as your only defense for backpacking trips.
Of course different products work different for everyone...this is just my opinion

Bought these for my family for our annual trip to Yosemite. Don't bother, they don't work at all.
