The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
I love this kayak! I took it up & down the Colorado River below the Hoover Dam on a 16-mile round trip in windy, choppy conditions. It's easy to get it moving up to speed & is quite maneuverable. My only complaint was that the kayak had a tendency to turn broadside to the wind (and it was really windy!) but I've been told that all kayaks do that. The seat is really comfy; I paddled for nearly 8 hours & have absolutely no complaints. In fact, I felt like I could keep on paddling another few hours. I love the dashboard; it's perfect for stashing sunscreen, food bars, water bottles, & other small items you need close at hand. The cockpit on this kayak is huge; I had no problems hopping in & out when I stopped to sight-see. This kayak is also fairly easy for me to load on & off the truck (my husband has a Ford F150 with a Yakima Outdoorsman rack on the bed). I'd be perfectly comfortable taking the truck & the kayak out by myself. Overall, I'm really happy with the Pungo 120 & can't wait to take it on a weekend overnight trip.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
My husband and I bought a pair of these kayaks about a month ago. These are our first kayaks, although we had been out a few times in others. We are really enjoying them. So far we have been in several larger lakes in moderately windy conditions (about 1' swells and chop) as well a a trip in a calm river with low water. The boats handled as we expected. They are very responsive to turning input, track well and are stable compared to the shorter boats we'd tried previously. They will serve us very well.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
This is the boat I wanted from day one. It took me a couple of years to outgrow my old boat, and couldn't be happier with this upgrade. I've used it on mild rapids (Saco river near North Conway NH) assorted lakes, the Connecticut River near Springfield, MA, and tidal estuaries in Boston Harbor.
This kayak is like a mac. Easy to use, very forgiving of error, and it makes one a better paddler. I've found the boat to track well in any water conditions, remain stable in heavier chop or rapids, and I appreciate the handled hatch entry to dry storage area, instead of the neoprene elastic wrapped cover type. My only complaint is a lack of a drain plug at the bow end, so getting excess water out requires a bilge pump or sponge, instead of simply tipping the boat on end to drain. The easily adjustable phase three seat is the best in the market. The included dashboard has a great storage area for little things, and actually deflected some chop from coming into the cockpit. The cockpit is roomy, and entry/exit is quite easy. (I'm 6'1", 235#)

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
I am so glad I spent the extra money and went with the Pungo for my first kayak. We also purchased a few $300 basic kayaks, and given the chance again I would always pay the extra $$ for the better quality boat. I constantly look for any opportunity to go out on the water because I have so much fun with it. Get one if you can!

The weight can be a little much for small people to handle alone. It would be awesome if it lost 10lbs.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
I kayak about 3 times a week with an average time of 4 hours per trip. I love this kayak! It tracks, glides and maneuvers really well. It is comfortable on long trips and for it's size can store enough equip. for over nights. The Pongo 120 out performs longer kayaks yet the size is manageable for river trips. I am pleased with this purchase and highly recommend it.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
My wife and I purchased a 14' Pungo a number of years ago and loved it so much that we decided to pick up this 120 as well. While I like the overall design and durability of the kayak, the detail work has really dropped from our older model. The new hatch system began leaking from the first paddle, as did the bulkhead. The dashboard is a great idea if you're only lake paddling, but if you do any river paddling where you need to get in and out more than once (ie, make a portage, walk it through the shallows, etc) expect to scrape your shins on this as you enter the yak. And every now and then, a "mystery nut" or other piece of hardware falls out from under the seat. As much as I hate to say this, we'll be looking at a different manufacturer group for out next kayak.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
I have used this Kayak twice now. Both times on a fairly large lake with intermittent large boat traffic. I have found it very stable in both smooth and choppy water. It handled the wakes of other boats well. It tracks very well, and is easy to paddle. The storage is great. The dashboard is and excellent addition. It give you good small item storage. The hatch is easy to get into while in the water. I can't wait to get out on the water again.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
great handling boat for beginners as well as experienced paddlers. a few problems are the stern hatch if the boat rolls over the hatch can come loose with the loss of contents. it should be mounted to boat, the hatch also provides egress clearance for taller people. the cockpit cover does not go over the hatch i think a redesign would improve. there is no drain hole as iam used to on other kyaks. i still really enjoy my pungo 120.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Pungo 120 Kayak with Dashboard:
Maybe not the ultimate kayak for the ultimate kayaker, but for an easy to get in and out of, easy to paddle, stable, comfortable and robust craft, this can't be beat. I am finding out about kayaks, fairly new to the activity, and I am impressed with the street cred that Wilderness
Systems has. I put this in the water at the Snohomish estuary, have my choice of miles of protected or unprotected water to navigate, and while I don't stay out in real blow me downs, it handles some stiff chop no problem, keeps on tracking straight and glides nicely. Cockpit is so big you could nap in it, have only been out in winter/cold water and with no protection have not attempted a roll, with such a wide beam might be kind of slow going. For a fun, easy to paddle, large capacity boat, this can't be beat. Won't be my last boat, but I hope I can keep it for friends to use as needed.
