This stove is a beautiful beast. It cooks wonderfully (a little on the hot side), and is a joy to use. The built in cutting board and towel rack are great features. I have never had such a luxurious cooking environment. This stove along with the Soto Pocket Torch XT (has extendable burner head), an MSR Flex 4 System Cookset, REI 10" Campware Nonstick Frypan, Brunton gourmet cook tools, Outdoor Research Backcountry Kitchen 2, and Alite Cloverware Utensils, and a decent can opener, make a complete gourmet cooking setup. Cooking with this setup was almost as good as cooking at home. I highly recommend this stove...when weight is not an issue.

Once this stove is set-up it is as good a stove as I have ever used. If you were at one place for several days or a week, it would be great. It seemed bomb proof. But if you are doing weekend trips or traveling, it can be a hassle. Set-up/take down was almost like being at the gym lifting weights! Bulky and heavy is what this stove is. For the cost, it should include electronic ignition. Overall, this stove is not worth it.

Comments about Soto 2-Burner Stove:

I bought this as I was transitioning from a minimalist car camping style to more luxury focused. I think I over shot. This thing is built like a tank, but it also weighs about as much as a tank. Compared to competitors stoves this is much larger and bulkier. It is made out of very high quality components and it appears that servicing it would be relatively simple.

Assembling it from case to stove seems much more complex than it needs to be. Once assembled it works great. It has a very nice regulator and good burner control. The included cutting board is big and heavy duty and their is storage underneath it. Since this thing is already pretty heavy, I never seem to put anything in the storage area.

If you are truly comfort driven, have the storage space in your car, and don't mind taking the time to set this up then this is a great stove for you. I love the quality of this stove, I just wish it was engineered a little better.
