Comments about Repel 100 Insect Repellent:
This is pure DEET, so it's extremely effective. This is the nuclear-deterrent of bug sprays. This is as good as you can buy.
But, some things to know. DEET is a powerful solvent; as the label says, it can and WILL melt a lot of plastics/synthetics. I've watched a very light misting melt my watch crystal and plastic watch strap as if I'd held a match to them. Scary strong. So two drawbacks: you don't want to make a long term habit of spraying this stuff directly onto your skin to be absorbed, and you don't want this to melt your watch, buttons, synthetic fabrics like clothing, shoes, tent, hammock, sleeping bag, etc.
For spraying onto cotton clothing ( jeans, socks etc) DEET is fine. For treating synthetics (including tent/hammock/screening), using permethryn is a better option (but never spray permethryn directly on your skin). For skin, either use DEET sparingly or consider something like REPEL lemon/eucalyptus--some reviewers say it's not as effective as pure 100% DEET (what could be?) but it's totally safe even on a loooong trip.

Comments about Repel 100 Insect Repellent:
Used this during extended tours in Brazil--mosquitos tend to be around whether in the cities or the country. Often wouldnt have slept without it. (I sometimes sprayed my sheets/pillows/clothes to limit contact with skin. Yes, it sprays better when upright, but I consider that a minor complaint on a very effective product.

Comments about Repel 100 Insect Repellent:
I brought this on a bike tour, hoping it'd save space over the larger spray cans. It is undoubtedly effective, but in places were the mosquitoes seem to be more numerous and more desperate, it's just harder to achieve good coverage with the tiny pump spray: it must be held upright, for example, which makes it harder to apply to your back and legs....and much harder to use while biking quickly trying to escape from the dozens of mosquitoes that have hitched a ride in the eddies around your bike bags. (Long story.)
Also, I've read that DEET is a mild solvent, though even with this stuff I never witnessed my tent dissolving before my eyes.

Comments about Repel 100 Insect Repellent:
I had an older version of this product (just a different bottle), I was in a marshy area for about 3 days and it was the worst time of the year for mosquitoes I tried and use the cheaper spray I had and it was totally ineffective only the this product worked. To get an idea on how bad the mosquitoes were one of the girls there had counted over 20 bites on her arms. I was bit free until it ran out when I lent it to some people who drenched them selfs with it luckily it was the last night we were staying there. Best product out there for repelling mosquitoes. I always carry a bottle when camping.
