Comments about Sherpani Rumba Superlight Child Carrier:
PROS:
- perhaps the cheapest of the high-end backpacks.
- light weight (but not significantly lighter than other lightweight packs.
- strong construction.
- generally good design with some mind-boggling design flaws.
- excellent waist strap.
- solid and stable stance.
- comfortable pack IF IT FITS YOU.
- securely holds child.
- child is very comfortable on 5+ hour hikes.
- folds (sort of) for transport.
- decent storage space.
- nice cellphone/keys pockets on waist strap.
CONS:
- roof works for rain/snow (if no wind) BUT NOT FOR SUN. The roof design is amazingly poor... makes us wonder if they ever put a child in it. It is not nearly long enough (child's face sits naturally out in front of it). Sides are not nearly low enough (ANY sun angle means kid is in full sun). Straps are soft and flexible but sit against kids face and mark her cheeks (not a big deal, but it is part of the bad design). To its credit, the plastic rain pull-over (over the removable roof) IS useful against snow, sleet, rain. This is by far the worst part of the pack and we are jerry-rigging (with shade cloth, scissors, sewing machine and velcro a new longer, lower (all around) roof. The factory roof is next to useless. If the Kelty arched roof is purchasable alone, maybe fit that to this pack. Look to a better roof in future models (if they want to stay in business).
- Pack (for adult) is not adjustable to different sized torsos. So, although we bought this pack for my wife (5.3") she simply cannot use it. I (5'7") am comfortable with it. The Deuter (and others?) have adjustable torsos for the adult. This is make or break (whereas the roof is riggable).
- Waist strap cannot cinch down enough for my wife to use it (she is slender with maybe a 65cm waist.
- Sturdy frame "kick stand" for standing pack upright (with kid inside) does not close up during hiking (only packing away). This is bad for any tight fits out in the field or casual stuff around the house/yard.
- Shoulder straps could be longer... for me the sternum straps are near my neck (but this is a common problem of many backpacks of many varieties for me).
- Straps all around are not as beefy as the Deuter (for example) but still quite comfortable for me even after many hours.
in summary, a cheapish pack with a generally excellent design with some short cuts (no torso adjustment, straps too short (shoulder) or too long (waiste) etc. BUT with one MAJOR design FLAW: the roof. While the stand's immobility was obviously a choice they made (bad one), the roof is unforgivable no matter what they had in mind.
I would recommend this to anyone willing to jerryrig the roof who can fit into it and who wants to save some money off the others or who lives without sun.

Comments about Sherpani Rumba Superlight Child Carrier:
The plastic holder that keeps the shoulder strap in place broke on the 5th use. My child is half the maximum weight and it still broke rather quickly.

Comments about Sherpani Rumba Superlight Child Carrier:
This is a great carrier. It's padded seat and sides make is super comfortable for our girls. I love that it has the 5 point harness for safety. My husband is happy that you can adjust it while wearing it. We both wear it and find it is very light weight. I like that the foot stirrups are removable- so we have that option as our kids grow. Yes, we would recommend this to others.

Comments about Sherpani Rumba Superlight Child Carrier:
My husband and I love to hike or take long walks. We love the looks of this carrier and we love the funtion of it. Our one year old son still fits in it and will for some time. My husband wears it on his back because he is taller - it fits him better than my back; and its not too heavy. We have had many comments on how great this is and how good looking it is too.

I am absolutely SHOCKED by the bad reviews on this product!!! I absolutely love this carrier, and I have had so many ladies compliment me on it!! It is super comfy, comes in cute colors, and my daughter(the real reviewer) has so much fun in it! Sherpani makes such cute products for women where other companies are dropping the ball!
I even use this carrier to make my boating life easier!!

Comments about Sherpani Rumba Superlight Child Carrier:
Love, Love, Love this bag! This is about the 10th carrier I tried on in the stores and I am so glad I choose this one. I am not going to lie, my eye went to it at first becuase it is so cute, but this bag is SO much more. It is very light, but at the same time, it is very strong and durable. Billy (my little baby boy) seems very comfotable when we are walking/hiking/hanging out with the Rumba. Also, I am very comfortable with the extra padding! the rain/shine cover is excellent! Try it.

Comments about Sherpani Rumba Superlight Child Carrier:
This is exactly what it sounds like like- super light weight and easy to use. I have found it to be the easiest one time and time again - comparing it to other carriers that fellow moms/dads own. My wife got this as a shower gift, and I gotta say - it was my personal favorite. We use it a lot, because it fits us both well.
