The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Gear Aid Tenacious Tape Repair Tape:
I used this tape as a "temporary" fix for a Thermarest NeoAir pad with a tear and an REI Flash 18 that ripped when I (cruelly) hauled it up a granite chimney. Never did get around to a permanent patch for either one, but after many more trips and a lot more abuse, the tape held up. No leaks in the NeoAir. The only sign of aging is a little bit of dirt around the edges of the tape.
There are a couple of things I did to help the tape stay in place. First, I put a matching piece on both sides of the pack fabric for reinforcement. Second, I rounded the corners of the tape with scissors. It seems like sharp corners would peel off more easily.

Comments about Gear Aid Tenacious Tape Repair Tape:
I have to admit that on our most recent family trip my wife and I made the first newby mistake in the book and left food inside of our tent when we went to bed. Sure enough in the middle of the night we woke up to a racoon who had torn a 6 inch rip in our $200 Kelty tent. I was devistated because I love our tent. The thought of duck taping the rip (which was at the bottom corner of the tent near the bottom seam) made my stomach churn. Did I mention that I love my tent? Well, we went to REI to ask about repair options. There were tubes of silicone and such but the salesman at the store suggested this tape. Since it came in the exact same blue color as our tent and the instructions sounded very easy to use we gave it a try. This tape is way better than I expected. I had already written off my tent as a gonner and now I feel as though my tent is as good as new. The one thing that we did differently to help with the repair is that my wife sewed the tear together before we applied the tape using dental floss. This made the application of the tape to the outside and inside of the tent very easy and ensured that the rip stays together. I would HIGHLY recommend this product if you have a rip in your tent, sleeping bag, stuff sack, or whatever! (BTW, if we had bought the tent from REI they would have offered to exchange the tent for a new one but we didn't) REI is the best so any future tents will definetly be bought from here! The slightly higher price is well worth the customer service that you receive if you ever have a problem with REI merchandise!!!

I used this to patch up 2 holes in a down jacket. I can't comment on waterproofing, but this tape stayed on through a whole winter in a horse barn and made it through the washer and dryer (gentle cycle/low heat) looking exactly the same as before. Amazing! Forget sewing. I recommend rounding the corners before you put the tape on, as the directions suggest.

Tired of looking cheap and later having to replace the duck-tape "patche" on the inner cuff of my ski pants, I finally covered up the tears from my ski edges with this tape.
Someone at REI advised me to also use the Seam Grip product to go around the edges of the tape- I used this strategy.
Been out for two hard days of skiing in both loose granular and powder conditions and have had no problems with the tape. Though you can notice the seam grip around the patches, I don't mind it whatsoever.

I have used this tape on kite surfing gear.
I have one patch that has been on my kite for the last 5 years it will out live the kite which gets weekly use Sun, sand and surf. For the price, convenience and just plain durability I highly recommend this tape it fits easily in a emergency repair kit adds no weight to your gear and does a great job.

Comments about Gear Aid Tenacious Tape Repair Tape:
Simply put, this gear tape just plain works. Whether it's on tent fabric, sleeping pads, rain jacket, awnings, etc. it sticks well, is very water resistant. It is easy to install and goes on without any special priming. It also doesn't leave sticky residue around the edges to attract dirt. Only downside is that the clear tape does slightly yellow with age.

This stuff looks even better than the tape of the same name I bought to fix an air mattress years ago. The sleeping pad i fixed had a 2 inch tear and after some careful placement and hard pressing it has welded to the pad, and it holds at least 200 lbs worth of air pressure. Highly recommended for anyone with an inflatable sleeping pad.

Comments about Gear Aid Tenacious Tape Repair Tape:
I have used this tape to repair two tents and a sleeping bag. The tent has seen at least two weeks of compounded use since and the tape still holds. The sleeping bag has been used and washed at least half a dozen times since. In both cases, the tape shows no signs of loosing strength or wearing off. It does tend to attract residue on the edge of the taped space, which is a little unseemly, but as far as functionality goes, it is better than duct tape. And the clear tape works great with just about anything.
