Comments about La Sportiva Crosslite Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
glove concept works great, keeps out debris. dries fast, so lightweight, minimal chafing. durable enough to wear in ultra races without being weighed down. my primary shoe for 50k and 50 mile trail runs, light enough to use at shorter distances too. my only initial hangup was the covered laces didn't let me use gaiters (which most people don't use), but I've fixed that by inserting a safety pin near the toe, which works well.

Comments about La Sportiva Crosslite Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I was looking for a good traction shoe for doing boot camps on Green Lake grass. My typical running or aerobic shoes didn't provide enough traction for agility movements like quick turns, nor for running while another person used straps to hold me back. I wanted something to keep me from hitting the grass in the horizontal!
So, when looking at the various trail running shoes, I selected the Sportiva because it had the best looking cleat-like soles. And they are very light. Also look awesome. I like the way the laces tuck into the shoe so they won't hang up on anything.
I have only used them once so far, on a rain soaked evening, but I love them already! No horizontal splats on the rain soaked grass-that's good!

Comments about La Sportiva Crosslite Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
This is probably the best trail shoe I've ever run in. It is very light weight and feels snug on the foot without being too tight. The tread is aggressive and can handle very technical terrain. I was surprised at how comfortable and natural they felt on my feet. I've even been running in them without Superfeet.
The Crosslite has everything I look for in a trail shoe: low-profile design, aggressive tread, padded tongue, reinforced sole and toe box. The only con is in regards to the lacing system. The design is great and keeps the shoe snug against your feet. However, because 80% of the laces are covered by an upper mesh cover to prevent dirt intrusion, I don't see a way to replace the laces if they break. Hopefully I'll never have to find out.

Comments about La Sportiva Crosslite Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
This shoe is pretty light weight. it fits my foot like a glove, but don't buy it if you don't want to fall and twist your ankle! This shoe has aggressive traction so it is good for dirt and gravel, but not for rock hopping across streams or for wet conditions. There is aggressive traction and then there is grip, and these shoes lack grip big time. I hiked the Presidential mountains in these. At the time the Presidentials were engulfed in white clouds so everything was wet. These shoes are better than some in wet conditions, but not good enough for me. I could not tell when the shoe was going to slip or not so I had to walk gingerly (which meant hiking slower). As usual with La Sportiva these have good traction going uphill and poorer traction going downhill. These are like cleets: good for dirt and weird on flat surfaces.
Even though these looked thin to me, they still had enough support that my feet weren't too badly bruised. I would never buy these again, and I can't return them so I am going to wear them to the end of their days.

Comments about La Sportiva Crosslite Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I bought these for serious trail work. They grip on anything - even greasy, wet, steep uphills, and hold the feet securely on steep downhills. These shoes are great on the trail and in the dirt, but are NOT for pavement use. While they are good on loose rock, even short runs on pavement are not recommended as they just don't have the cushioning for it.
They are exactly what they are advertised as - a very lightweight trail shoe.

Comments about La Sportiva Crosslite Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I absolutely LOVE these shoes. Especially being a mid-foot striker who excels on downhill these things let me run safely, well almost, at speeds I've only used to dream about. Amazing grip, forefoot protection and amazing response. I always run in thick wool hiking socks so can't say too much about foot comfort. the gaiter keeps debris out and the shoe itself feels akin to indoor soccer shoes in fit. Would definitely recommend for shorter intervals to high mileage days.
