Comments about The North Face Base Camp Messenger Bag - Small:
This is overall a great little bag if you want a small city bag. It's perfect for year round use since it's made out of a plastic-y coated canvas so it'll protect the contents from rain. It's comfortable to wear from your shoulder or acrossyour body if you're commuting, walking around or biking. The chest/waist strap help keep it steady.
The main mesh outside pocket, and pocket under the flap are the most useful "organizing" feature. The internal ones are hard to use if you want to access items frequently. And may catch when you're quickly shoving a laptop in. But there good for a few smaller items like a small notepad, spare cash, bandaids, a bottle opener or whatever that may be nice to tote around just in case.
There is a wrap around zipper under the main flap to completely seal down against the main bag if you are worried/obsessive about losing small items/rain but the buckels do just fine for daily everyday use. When the bag is fuller the zipper is a pain to close up due to the angles at the top near the flap and tight seal. It gets a bit easier to use as you get used to it and the bag breaks in.
The materials are sturdy/high quality- but due to the plastic-y nature they won't last as long as a plain canvas bag. It's a good trade off for me. I've used this bag daily and it has a small crack at the back due to frequent abraision.
The main strap is adjustable with a plastic clip thing that I was worked about popping open but never has. The loop on the side that'll hang down if you have it tightened up caught my saddle a I pushed off from a light so now I tuck the excess length behind the clip.
Fits a laptop vertically, charger, a smaller water bottle to the side, snack, a magazine, scarf, sweatshirt, small camera, other small odds and ends etc. Or at least that's what I commonly have in it. But doesn't hold a ton so size up if your looking to fit more capacity. For me the smaller size is perfect and not too bulky.
Wish a few things were redesigned like the internal pockets and awkward zipper but the pluses are worth those smaller annouances.

Comments about The North Face Base Camp Messenger Bag - Small:
This bag was everything I wanted, especially the waterproof material for daily use in the rainy city.
The one big con is the material on the top flap started cracking, and I've only had it for 10 months.

Comments about The North Face Base Camp Messenger Bag - Small:
I purchased this bag as a pseudo purse because I generally carry more than a purse and want something more sporty...it has served its purpose well...there are different compartments on the inside that allow me to keep all of my stuff organized. it is a little hard to access but the design that keeps things securely inside makes it necessary i suppose. the one thing i dont like is the zippers on the outer flap are hard to close because of how sharp the angle is. i hardly use them because it has clips but if im on a bike or going somewhere that i really dont want things to fall out i fight the zippers. other than that i love it!! good construction, no rips, cracks or tears as of yet...
