Comments about REI Quantum Computer Messenger Bag:
I use the Quantum Computer Messenger Bag to haul my small MacBook, and it's perfect for that. A Medium Timbuk2 computer sleeve fits the bag perfectly, and provides additional padding and functionality for the MacBook. I only wish that this messenger bag model was available to fit a 17-inch laptop (it actually will fit in the bag, but not in the padded section). There are lots of messenger bags from which to choose, but very few will actually fit a 17-inch laptop. A larger version of this bag would be great. This bag is very practical for a smaller sized (under 17-inch) laptop. It has a full coverage flap which secures easily with buckles and sheds rain. I've had this bag for a couple of years now, and the material is durable and nice looking. It is easy to carry on a commute. The bag includes a zip open front pocket, covered by the flap for the weather. The pocket includes practically sized organizer pockets for pens, computer or camera attachments, and an interior zip open mesh pocket for essentials. The interior of the bag has three main sections. One is for the laptop, one for papers, files, or books, and there's a wider center section of the bag for jacket, gloves, hat, beer, whatever. An interior mesh bottle pocket is included at one end of the interior section. What I find unique about the Quantum bag is that the computer sleeve section spans the interior width of the bag. You'll be surprised how many computer sleeve sections do not span the interior of the bag, limiting capability. The top of the laptop sleeve has an adjustable strap rather than a flap to secure. I like the adjustable strap, as a taller laptop my be accommodated. Even with an additional, Medium size Timbuk2 sleeve for my MacBook, the laptop strap secures easily and holds the laptop in place. The exterior of the bag includes a mesh bottle holder on one end, and a padded, zip open pocket on the other end, for glasses case, mouse, etc. The exterior top of the bag has a zip open pocket for quick, direct access to the laptop section. There's also a carry handle, as a briefcase would have. The size of this bag is very easy to commute with. I had to purchase a MUCH larger (and more expensive) messenger bag to fit the 17-inch laptop issued by my company. I can share with you, it is not as easy to commute with a large, wide bag. The size of the Quantum bag is just right for commuting. At the end of the day, this is a very practical bag for a whole lot less than most laptop messengers. I just wish this design were also available in a larger size. It looks like there is a market for a practical, 17-inch laptop hauler like this. I had been looking at a lot of "name brand" laptop messenger bags until[...]showed me the value in the Quantum bag. She was right, and I am very happy.

Comments about REI Quantum Computer Messenger Bag:
I had the bag for a day and it looked very nice with lots of storage room, but my 17" Laptop measuring 15.5 x11.5 would not fit in it. So I returned it.

Comments about REI Quantum Computer Messenger Bag:
OK, so after a long search for a discreet camera bag for street photography, I ran into this messenger bag. Below are the main reasons I like this bag:
1) It's wide enough to fit two bodies and a lens or two, or one pro body comfortably with extra lens.
2) It has a zippered opening on the body side of the bag. This means you can access your camera without even opening the main flap cover, take your pictures, and put the camera away before anyone knows what's going on.
3) Since it is a computer bag, the bottom is padded well enough to not have to worry putting bag on the ground and damaging your camera equipment.
4) Very discreet. It really does look like an ordinary messenger bag (because it is), but can easily be outfitted to carry your camera gear.
5) It a whole lot less expensive than dedicated "discreet" camera bags.

Comments about REI Quantum Computer Messenger Bag:
I have this messenger bag. Initially, I hesitated spending this much money for a bag that gets thrown around every day, but now, I have no regrets.
It was supposed to be used for work, but I take it on trips, use it as a carry-on, stuff it under seats, in car trunks and under my desk. It really takes a beating and still looks new.
I really fill it with stuff, newspapers, books, camera and even my lunch. You just can't kill this bag.
I bought one as a gift for a friend and now he uses it as a replacement for his expensive briefcase.
