Comments about SIGG 100 Year Bottle - 32 oz.:
I love my Sigg's (have 3). They hold up great, don't have the plactic taste you get with a Nalgene, and they go with me wherever I go, whether to class or out in the back country. I really liked the design and look of the special 100 year bottle (Excalibur) so I went ahead a got one. It looks great and I love the ribbed design, adds a little grip like the other reviewers have pointed out. But after about 3 weeks of everyday use the metal screw top stripped out leaving me with a bottle I couldn't close. I returned it for a replacement, but have not got the new one yet. The only plus about the metal screw top going is that the standard plastic screw tops will fit the bottle, so if it becomes a recurring problem you can just replace it with a plastic top that won't strip out from continual contact with metal.

Comments about SIGG 100 Year Bottle - 32 oz.:
The only gripe I have with this bottle is the metal top that it comes with. I remember reading on Sigg's website that it's best to purchase a plastic top for daily use because the metal top will cause excessive wear on the threads as others here have mentioned. [...]. This is the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars for this bottle.Otherwise, this bottle works as well as any other Sigg bottle. I bought this 100 year design because I thought the ridges would make the bottle a bit more dent resistant and so far it seems ok, but I don't use it as much as my other Sigg bottle. The top threads and engages smoothly and doesn't leak. If the bottle is filled with cold water and then closed, there will be a slight pop when it's opened after the water has warmed up due to thermal expansion of the air. No big issue, but a few water droplets might splatter out.One thing I like on Nalgene narrow mouth design over Sigg is that on the Nalgene the cap covers all areas that my mouth will come in contact with when drinking while the Sigg does not. So under some conditions the Sigg may not be as clean. The small opening can make the Sigg somewhat difficult to clean, but I only use it for water so all I do is rinse it out with warm water and baking soda occasionally. Compared to Klean Kanteen, I like the Sigg better. I do like the KK size slightly better because the bottle is more slender and fits better in cup holders and has a larger opening. However, the Sigg's top engages more smoothly and securely than KK's design and doesn't leak. My KK leaks only a few droplets but a leak is a leak. On the bottom of the Sigg, there is a notch to prevent slip on wet flat surface that seems to work better than on the KK.

Comments about SIGG 100 Year Bottle - 32 oz.:
I'm a fan of Sigg bottles in general, and this is the most satisfying one I have (I chose the plain metal model) -- EXCEPT for the retro top, which I've replaced with a standard Sigg screw-top.
The retro top looks great, but it has metal threads rather than plastic (it seems the top, apart from its loop, is one die-cast piece of aluminum). The slight "give" of plastic must explain why the threads engage much more smoothly on those other tops, compared with these threads. Every time I inserted the retro top I kept having to really pay attention to align right and get used to the slight metal-on-metal friction. (The seal is still fine, because the rubber gasket kicks in at full insertion.)
Then, again, if you're trying to eliminate all contact between your water and plastic, maybe this is a feature rather than a bug...

Comments about SIGG 100 Year Bottle - 32 oz.:
I demand three things out of any product from REI: 1)Indestructibility, 2) Works like it should, 3) Can do it all.
That being said, these bottles are indestructible. I have read other reviews about how they dent and ding and become unattractive. Well, of course they do! They're Aluminum. What they don't do though is break, which is more important. I abuse the hell out of my Siggs, they are dented, scratched, and beat up, but they still hold the same amount of liquid and deliver it to my mouth just like the day I bought them.
The second feature I love is that water, juice, milk, applesauce - it doesn't matter - all tastes like it should. Water is crisp and pure, there is absolutely no metallic taste (Sigg's proprietary thing) and all you get is the pure stuff. Also, if I drink a bottle full of barbecue sauce, rinse it out, then put some iced tea inside, I only taste iced tea. It doesn't matter what you put it, it all comes out, no matter how long it was in there.
The only real negative is that if you put very cold liquid in it, condensation will show up on the outside of the bottle. Putting anything hot in there is not an option, just like Nalgene you can't hold onto the bottle.
Other than that, this is one perfect water bottle that keeps liquids tasting great, fits your lips and hand well, and won't break.

Comments about SIGG 100 Year Bottle - 32 oz.:
This is my third Sigg and I must say my favorite. I did the bright colored thing and then the "green" message thing, but I think the classic color and design of the excalibur is perfect! The aluminum top is so attractive with it's indented edges and Sigg stamped on top but the little wire you have to carry it around with is not comfy. As it moves around black dust seems to get on the sections that slide into the top, too. I agree that it doesn't track as easily in the grooves; the big difference is that you have to be conscious when you are twisting, don't force it, remove it and try again that way you won't mess up the threading. This version is the only one that eliminates plastic which is why people are using Siggs to begin with, right? I frequently put ice from work in it, the machine makes small hail like pellets that go inside with ease. They are very hard to hold when icy or hot so beware. I also got tired of leaving puddles all over tarnation so I bought a built ny brand neoprene sleeve from REI. It was made for the 32 ounce nalgenes but fits a 32 ounce Sigg traveler just as well. It has also alleviated my need to use the badly implemented wire on the lid because it has a loop to hold on to. Since only a few specific types of Siggs (only the ones that say hot and cold on the outside in a traditional style) are insulated having a cover also helps keep your drink colder longer. I must say that my cat loves to lick the condensation from my Sigg, so it isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'll close with the absolute worst thing with all Siggs. It's the fact that if you drop it, or hit it against a wall you run a very good chance of denting it. It could very well ruin your whole day. I fancy wiping my Sigg clean once I've filled it and it's just not as satisfying when it's all jacked up.
Service and delivery comments:
I did the delivery to an REI location because I'm cheap. It does take longer but it's free so what can you say? I've alway been impressed with REI service.

Comments about SIGG 100 Year Bottle - 32 oz.:
Regarding the 100 year bottles specifically, the ribbed design is great and makes the bottle a bit easier to grip, especially with condensation. I have yet to test this theory, but I suspect it's less susceptible to dents with the ribbed design.
I haven't warmed up to the special cap these come with yet. I don't hate it... but I don't love that it's metal and doesn't screw in as easily as the standard plastic screw top. The gasket is the same though so leaking isn't a problem. I may put a plastic top on this when I work it into my Sigg rotation.
For real plastic-phobes, the metal cap might make this more attractive.
Other than the differences above, it's just as awesome as other Sigg bottles!

I love SIGG bottles and do and have owned several. I have only need to replace them because I have lost them.
However, this SIGG bottle cap it the worst ever. 9/10 times i fight the lid to get it to screw on correctly. The aluminum cap thread is not a continuos threading all the way up to the cap and this creates the the problem.
Buy SIGG just not this metal cap design.

I love Sigg bottles and was quick to add one of these to my collect. I like the indentations around the bottle and the gunmetal color. As with all Sigg bottles, make sure not to drop it too many times or you'll end up with dents.

I love my SIGG. It's solid as a tank, keeps my water cold for hours, nicely sized, and beautifully designed. What could be better? Maybe if it made icecream. High five SIGG. Go buy one and see for yourself...

Military profession results in some rough environments and this bottle stands up to the challenge. Have Nalgene bottles as well and I recommend the durability of this one.
