Comments about REI Muir Woods Vest - Men's Extended Sizes:
Well, I'm kind of a big fella, so I ordered them a size larger,I told myself it was so I could layer them, but actually, it was the only size they had. It is a very comfortable vest, I use one at work and I keep one at the fishing cabin. I have one extra, because they were a sweet deal. Turns out, I love it a little larger than I need, plenty of freedom of movement and still keeps me warm enough with just a long sleeve t-shirt. Does a good job with wind, if your arms can stand it. It is somewhat water resistant, as with most fleece, and the surface balls up, as with most fleece. It has HUGE pockets on the outside, and those double as inside pockets of the same size. I bought it 1 size too large and still can't see what you would carry comfortably in all this pocket space. I have stuffed a fleece cap, a(famous maker, not 360's) pair of earmuffs, a cellphone, a small fly box and a spare fly reel in them and thought I was the Goodyear Blimp incarnate zooming in on some sweet little Browns in Oregon. I wear a lot of vests, typically daily, and I go through them quickly. The one I wear daily has outlasted a few of a previous Oregon maker. Mostly the zippers get screwy, but the REI has a great zipper, it is large and most importantly, it has the little flap on the inside so my chin and neck hairs don't get caught and make me jack my head around like a freak from the pain. I guess the best part is, I make them look so darn good. Buy them early, buy them often.
