Comments about High Sierra Torrent Hydration Pack - 70 oz. - Special Buy:

Replaced hydro pack with CamelBak Omega as the valve system is pretty lousy. Just rode 25 miles then ran 5 miles. It doesn't tighten as much as I would like at the chest, but the waste strap is a must when you are carrying weight in the pack.

Not as good as a compareable Camelbak, but if you can get at a discount, it is worth it.

I use this snowboarding and on dayhikes. The bladder has a removable hose, make sure this is tight and it won't leak like another report said. It holds a good amount of gear and I use this pack on a regular basis.

Comments about High Sierra Torrent Hydration Pack - 70 oz. - Special Buy:

Agree with AR Mike Review. The original hydro pack has low flow rate, must suck to get water out and it hurts your mouth after a while. I'm going to invest in a Camelback replacement. I like the locking mechanism though.

I have the luxury to compare to my gf's Camelback, and this pack has less should strap padding, but seems to be more roomy on the inside. Difficult to fit items in the lower outside pocket after hydro pack is full and the main compartment is packed. Used for cycling and comfortable most of the time, not sure how good it is for running.

Overall a good pack for the money, but if you can splurge on the Camelback.

Comments about High Sierra Torrent Hydration Pack - 70 oz. - Special Buy:

I purchased this product because I could not afford a more expensive camelbak at the time. I needed a small hydration pack to hold a slr camera, water bottle, visas, and rain jacket during a three month trip to rural central Africa. The two compartment design is very neat, however it did not work well for me because it required that my camera be on the bottom if I wanted to carry an extra nalgene and a raincoat.
Within a month of daily use, the backpack started to break down. The material is very sturdy and never tore, the problem were the seams that begun to wear out and fail. The zipper pulls also tore very easily. On a more positive note, I must say that this backpack has plenty of places to clip on extras, which came in very useful.
Unfortunately, this backpack did not meet my needs and I traded it in for a black diamond as soon as I returned to the states.

Comments about High Sierra Torrent Hydration Pack - 70 oz. - Special Buy:

I use this product almost daily for trail runs, single day hikes, and mountain biking. This pack does everything I could want. It holds plenty of water also the valve is not bad could be a little better. The other nice feature is the mess netting that expands from the bottom of the pack(I use it to hold a towel). The only complaint I have is that when the hydration pack is full it can be hard to fill the top pocket with a lot of stuff. Also the bottom pocket could have some elastic to allow for expansion.

Comments about High Sierra Torrent Hydration Pack - 70 oz. - Special Buy:

I bought this bag looking for something that would be small, comfortable, and hold the bare essentials for biking to work. The hydration-compatible portion of this item was a "bonus" for me, and I haven't used it yet so I can't comment on that.

What I will say is that there are many subtle touches to this bag that make it very practical. It has great organizational options, as there is a place to stash a mini bike pump, an organizer for basic bike tools, a place to clip a rear flashing light for night-biking, a key clip inside the bag, and a stowable mesh panel to hold a helmet when not in use (i.e., walking from your bike into work or at work), or other accessories.

The padding is minimal, but the bag isn't so large that you would be able to carry enough that padding is an issue. It adjusts easily when putting it on or taking it off. I like High Sierra products and am happy with this item.

I use this for 1-2 hour road bike rides about once a week. It definitely does the trick for an easy ride - although I haven't used it in the mid-summer heat yet. The water-flow leaves something to be desired.

Comments about High Sierra Torrent Hydration Pack - 70 oz. - Special Buy:

This is my second review. I enjoy this pack more as time passes, mostly when I remember the deal I got for it.

It's less comfortable than a Camelbak (shoulder padding, back padding) but in my opinion worth the price.

I tried it running once and never will again. No matter how tight I made the straps, never seemed to get snug on my body.

Haven't had any breaks or tears after 2 years of about weekly use.

I love the helmet net, which I use to store shoes or clothes while riding, and helmet, gloves, and sunglasses when off the bike.

I still think the lower pocket is pretty useless. It's hard to fit stuff through the zipper when the rest of the pack is full.
