The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
I bought this knife to put on my climbing rack to cut old webbing from anchors and the occasional 7 mm cord. Great knife for the price. You shouldn't expect really high quality for this price. It just does the job. I wouldn't want to hang an expensive knife off my rack anyway. I put the knife in my pocket and hurled myself to the kitchen floor 5 times. It didn't open. It passed. Did I mention is does a really good job at opening non-twist off beer bottles?

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
This knife has a great blade with surprisingly deep serrations which work well for cutting rope and webbing. The bottle opener is easy to use, the handle is supper grippy and the locking mechanism is unique, lockign the blade open and closed. I guess if you're an idiot and drop it on the kitchen floor FIVE TIMES it may not function as well as expected.
I have two critiques: 1. the handle is such sticky rubber that it is difficult to easily slide in and out of a pocket; 2. the clip catches and bends out of shape easily requiring you to remove it and bend it back into shape.

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
This knife is great for the price. I cant afford Bucks assisted opening blades but this is just as good. The blade and serrations are super sharp. The bottle opener works but isn't the best. Even though these knives are made in China they're still better than any Gerber I've ever used.

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
I bought 10 of these knives. 1 for me and the rest for the fathers and groomsmen. I have to give this knife high praise for innovation. Too many knives are the same old same old.
This knife has a unique opening feature and locking mechanism as well as a bottle opener. You get these two new features at a price that is reasonable for the size of the knife.
Maybe the quality lacks but so far the knife has worked just fine, especially for the price. Comparably priced knives are usually half the size, so with a combination of innovation and price this knife is well worth it, although I probably wouldn't keep dropping it on the floor until it breaks.
Good knife at a good price.

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
To start off its a solid knife, as all bucks are. Not a regret but other than the novelty value it doesn't seem to be amazing.
Pros.
It has a comfortable handle that makes using it feel like less of a chore. The locking mechanism is dependable and once you get the hang of it can be kind of fun. The blade comes sharp enough and the bottle opener serves to be useful.
Cons.
The handle, while comfortable gets dirty easy and is hard to clean, which tends to make it slippery if it gets greasy. The locking mechanism can be annoying to engage or disengage in a hurry.
I liked the knife but found it to be ill suited for everyday carry ( perhaps its just me) but it does well clipped to my pack for when I need it.
If your looking for a solid knife that you can clip to your climbing pack or rig, here you go. If not, it isnt bad, but it seems to be somewhat of just a novelty for every day cary.
I give it three starts for average, I dont regret it but i wouldnt miss it.

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
I thought this knife was great until it fell out of my pocket in the bathroom, landed on the button and opened. I tried several ways of clipping it in my pocket, but it still fell out and deployed . When it fell out on a dog walk and opened around my dogs, I stuffed it in a drawer for a while and then finally threw it away!
This is a DANGEROUS knife! Don't buy it!

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
I bought this knife for my 10-yr old son, as his first knife. He's a scout that will be using it as a camping tool. He loves it! Rubberized handle is perfect for maintaining grip with wet hands. He can open it with one hand. The bottle opener will be great for a lanyard or 'biner connection point to make it more difficult to loose while stomping through the woods. [...]. Lifetime manufactures warranty. I love it so much I wish I'd bought one for me. Only drawback is that it is slightly small for my hand. Excellent job Buck!

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
I bought this knife for camping, canoing, and everyday use. The knife still works great and, as a Buck, keeps it's edge for a long time. However, the blue handle looks really cool when you buy it and then turns nasty after a few months. I keep this knife in my pocket pretty much all of the time. After about a month it started to turn from the bright blue to a dull, browned look. Now it is all a nasty brownish green color. The blue handle is also flaking off now. I will be returning this knife to REI soon to exchange for another knife. I like Bucks, but the handle quality on this knife is terrible. Pass this one up for another knife if you want one that will look good for a long time.

Comments about Buck Redpoint Knife:
I go on frequent day hikes in the local area, and in the Sierra. I had been looking for a good light weight knife. The Buck is that. It is much lighter than I expected, but still stays rigid when I use it. The blade holds is edge pretty well, especially for what I paid for the knife.
The grip seems to be sticky, making it not slip as my hand became wet throughout the day. It fits well in the pocket and locks closed well.
If you are seeking a light weight, firm blade, with a good grip, for a very reasonable price, this is the knife for you.
