Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ascent Stretch Air Permeable Gaiters:
09 Winter Cold and a Fair amount of Snow here in New England "I'm out doors every day".
Just bought this pair have about 25 miles of hiking through the trails and woods in the snow with them most with out snow shoes.
Keeps the snow out and you stay dry..
Didn't think I would like the Velcro, but I think its great easy on and off, stay's closed, no problem with moisture getting in. Hardly know you have them on. The rubber boot straps held up well even in the rocks, I'll see how long they last. but you can get replacements.
Another Great product from Mountain Hardware.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ascent Stretch Air Permeable Gaiters:
I use gaiters for mountain rescue work - skree evacs, hikes, etc. in high alpine environments. This product would be great except for the top straps.
First, after one use, the strap end frayed, which did not allow me to put them in the buckle very easily.
Second, the sizing is based on foot size (not leg circumference). I'm slender and the top strap did not cinch up tight enough for them to stay up, so they kept falling down.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ascent Stretch Air Permeable Gaiters:
Loved having gaiters for the first time on my last hike. Terrain was rocky, rooty, wet, and overgrown. Kept my ankles dry without getting hot. The only con is the sizing. My size 13 feet require me to get the extra large size, but the top strap won't tighten enough around my leg to hold them up. I will try to improvise though.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Ascent Stretch Air Permeable Gaiters:
Worked very well. used with shorts without issue. stayed in place. no rubbing. Also found they worked well as a "boot bag" alternative. At night I wrapped my wet boots in them so I could bring them into the tent. I wanted to keep my boots from freezing!
