Comments about tubus Tara Front Bike Rack:

Installed the rack on a Salsa Fargo 29er w/disc brakes. No optional accessories were needed and install was a snap. The tubes used by Tubus are thicker than other brands so you may need to adjust the connections on your panniers. For example, our Ortlieb panniers required the larger diameter clips and I had to flip the disc-shaped mounting piece around. Once set up, I then covered the rack in electrical tape to prevent scuffing.

One thing to keep in mind: The addition of the front rack DOES interfere with some bike racks, such as the Thule T2. Keep a 4mm allen wrench handy and just undo the screws on the rails, loosen the lower screws, and just rotate the rack upwards towards the headtube to accomodate the bike rack's arm.

Comments about tubus Tara Front Bike Rack:

Bought the Tara for my touring needs, but it also has been GREAT for my commuting. After 6,000 miles I have ZERO complaints with how the rack has held up or how my front roller classic have stayed on the rack. Simple put if the Tara fits on your bike set up, then put the money towards it: after all its only weighs 1.09 LBS. My satisfaction with TUBUS is very high, I have 3 other TUBUS racks and would give them all 6 starts!!! Stay with TUBUS they are GREAT

Comments about tubus Tara Front Bike Rack:

Good, heavy duty rack. Just make sure it will fit your bike.
I have a Specialized Sirrus, and in order to fit this right, I had to actually install the horizontal bar upside down. With a little jury-rigging it does work great, though.

Comments about tubus Tara Front Bike Rack:

This rack was easy to install, looks great and works well with several different brands of panniers including Arkels and Ortliebs. Tubus has a wonderful warranty and a reputation of withstanding the abuse that comes from long distance touring.

Comments about tubus Tara Front Bike Rack:

This rack is easy to install, durable and study. I have used my Tubus on two fully loaded tours of over four hundred miles each. The rack distributes the load well and my panniers do not shift. When not touring, it takes two minutes to remove the rack. A brilliant design. I wish my rear rack were a Tubus. ONLY BY TUBUS!

Comments about tubus Tara Front Bike Rack:

The rack appears to be ok but it is missing 1 part, and for me is useless without it. The Tubus web sight and the REI web site provide a picture of the rack that is not correct there is no welded on lower clip. The rack does not come with the lower clip for 3 point paniers like Arkel. I went to my local flagship store to get the plastic clip because it is not listed on the REI web site. Dont bother they did not have it or list it. The REI bike guy told me to go to the manufactuer, they were rude and only quoted the reliability of their product but provided no access to the part or specific time line it would be available. I bought the rack in January and from what I gatherd, emailing back and fourth to tubus the plastic clip will be avalable in the US somtime after March or April apparently they will be had carried here. Tubus will no longer respond to emails. REI offered to take the rack back and I do not see this as there fault. I would like to see a review of REI's policy to carry this product. I would strongly not recomend this product, or this company.
