Comments about Crank Brothers Acid 1 Pedals:
Great pedals. Easy exit and entry. I have the candy c's on my road bike, but like the extra platform on the acids for my mountain bike. Would recommend pedal.

Comments about Crank Brothers Acid 1 Pedals:
I recently switched from Shimano pedals to these and switched from road bike shoes to mountain bike shoes. Mainly because mountain bike shoes are more comfortable. I use these on my Giant road bike and on my Quintana Roo tri bike until I buy the Candy 3's. Anyway, LOVE these pedals! Easy entry and exit, little maintenance, rebuildable if in a pinch, and I love the extra platform for transfer of power. I have not used them on a mountain bike. The cleat is small enough that I can walk around with ease in my mountain bike shoes. Also a plus in case you have to change a tire on the side of the road or something of the sorts. Or run to the store on your bike.
One thing I'd take note of. Make sure to get the cleat nice and snug on your shoe. Mine moved on me and made my exit more like 40 degrees. Scared me for a sec when I almost didn't get my foot out! That's pretty much my fault, but just wanted to give a heads-up. Definitely doesn't effect my opinion of the pedals.

Comments about Crank Brothers Acid 1 Pedals:
I'm using this product while deployed to Iraq, the land of dirt, sand, mud, and gravel. I have never used clip-in pedals before, but wanted to cycle more for physical fitness when I can't run. These are SO easy to use and only took me about a minute to figure out. The multiple-angle entry is great, the only drawback of which makes using them with non-cleat shoes makes you more liable to slip off the pedal. The only REAL criticism I have is completely cosmetic; but the paint job on them is not great quality, as most of it scraped off one side after I attached the pedal. Anodized aluminum or a nice powdercoat would make these about perfect.

Comments about Crank Brothers Acid 1 Pedals:
Unless you are OK with your pedals spending more time getting fixed, than actually on your bike - sure buy these pedals. Otherwise, look around for something of better quality. Crankbros get an A for the look and concept of their pedals, unfortunately the component quality really let's these pedals down. The metal tension springs are too soft and fracture at the bends. And without the retaining springs the egg-beater clips will not work and the platform is as good as walking on ice.
Do yourself a favor and buy other pedal platforms. These are just not worth the hassle.
